My oil light flashes intermitently on idle only. If I accelerate it goes off and everything is fine.
I am yet to change the oil. I have engine flush to go through it then will change oil and filter.
It's a 1.6cvh efi mk4 escort.
Is this something to worry about?

 

yes oil pressure sounds dodgy to me

could be a spun shell

 

if its been stood for a while an oil change might fix it. if not,its fooked.

 

have a look at the wire that gose onto the pressure swich

 

you would hear it if it has spun a shell

 

As above if the wire is ok then change the switch . If that doesent fix it it will prob be the oil pump
