I`m trying to help my dad find a car, he wants either a 330d sport or 530d sport. He`s open to other suggestions but we were thinking today is it really worth getting diesel over petrol as their the same price at the pump but petrol cars are slightly cheaper. His budget is around £5-6k, any thoughts or suggestions?

 

diesel will give more mpg and more sellable in this climate

 

oh and more power and torque when remapped

 

What sort of driving is it ? Town motorway etc

My old ST TDCi Mondeo did about 35mpg & my Focus ST does about 21mpg on the same road, time & conditions (stop start town traffic driving with hills).

Diesel it is then, hard to find a manual 530d sport, all seem to be automatics.
