my car is driving like shit! its 2wd, i poly bushed the rear beam and arms last year and it has nt been the same since, but it was useable, but its alot worst now,the front is all poly bushed too,new tca s, 4 new tyres, hankooks on the rear and toyos on the front, poly diff mount, everything is like new, no movement on any suspension parts anywhere when i ve had it on the lift also had the steering lined. it seems fine through the gears but once it starts picking up a bit of speed 100mph or that it starts wondering all over the road, its got koni s all round , not sure on the springs, startin to really piss me off, no confidence at all when driving it! rear legs are fine to , no rot! what should i try next cause im baffled
Im gonna change the rear springs on mine apparently the koni ones aren,t great maybe its them? presuming urs are koni,s . Think its the avo team dynamics 'std height' that are recommended not 100% sure tho , and also they are still lower than std ride height. Sounds as if you,ve covered most things , im sure someone on here can shed more light on this

The major "floaty" feeling from the rear at speed can be caused by weak springs, and the soft rear ARB.
Opposite lock went in my car, and I'm sure will tell you it was 100% stable even well over 100, on a private road, this stability cam about due to the 22mm rear arb, I used the car for 1 month each with 16mm arb, then 18mm arb, then 22mm adjustable arb on mid setting, at which it is the same as a escos one, the high speed stability was awsome, long sweeping bends on private roads at 150 no problem, 10,000% more stable, not found a downside yet despite what everyone told me, I do have coilys and run 200lb on the rear.

Mine handles nice though.
Fatmike, as far as i know the rear track isn;t adjustable as standard?

my car was never the same after i polyed the rear tbh, used to sit at serious speeds thinking the car was on rails before this, but it was never as bad as it is now, maybe try a new set of springs!
As said poly bushing the rear arms could be the problem as std they are fitted with a sort of spherical bearing not a bush, also what make of bushes did you fit to the beam? my mate fitted some of those orange ones to the beam and rear arms and it made the car feel terrible, noticeably worse than the knackered std bushes he took out.

Its more than likely the rear arm bushes. The standard ones are far better than any polybush on the market. IIRC you can get either the inner or the outers from Ford, but only one type, the other is discontinued....

if one of the trailing armes or hubs is slightly bent it could throw the rear track out thats what i ment lol

cheap poly bushes?they wear \quick and are cheap cos they arent that good,i poly bushed my whole 2wd saph with powerflex bushes and it was on rails.my old rack had play on 1 side,no knocking or anything, this caused wandering and twitchyness when hitting cats eyes, check that.possibly the uprated bushes have shown up a weakness elsewhere.
had the same problem, car was all over the road giving no confidence and braking was quite scary. was one of the steering rack bushes i think its called. poly´d it and was fine
later had a new set of toyo t1-r fitted on the back and i was back again, no responce from the rear making highspeed lane shifting very unstable. have always used the toyo´s but something must av been wrong with this set, went back to originals and traction was fine again.

I'm not sure if they improved them after but I do know some people who still aren't impressed by them and have gone for Flaken FK452 as a similar priced replacement
Ive always had them but this time there was a significant change, maybe because i didnt have it streched
had 215 on 8" rim, now went up to 225, it was a nightmare. Was looking for some falkens but got hold of some eagle f1 even cheaper
I had the same problem when i fitted new bushes on my xr2 , felt so unsafe etc .
Your problem is them rear bushes , you have also fitted the cheaper ones which imo i would never fit to my 3 door . they warp and split after a short period of time . as people have said above the rear arms are fitted with a bearing bush .
Change them asap along with your shock. or look to see whos breaking a cossie and just get the arms complete .
