Default stage 3 t3 or t34 what would be better

what would be a better turbo at around 250bhp .

ive got a stage3 t3 on a autospecialists manifold at the mo.

but have been offered a custom manifold that looks real trick it puts the turbo above the gearbox and is fitted with a t34 turbonectics turbo for a good price.

but would need to sell mine to get it realy.

is it 1600cvh? If it is IMO the t34 will still be a lag monster on that manifold. The t3 stage 3 will easily cope with 250 bhp.

You won't want to run any serious antilag on your t3 if you want it to last more than 5 minutes really as the heat will kill it, unless you happen to have a maram shafted one?!! My last engine ran a healthy 245bhp on basically a stage 3 t3 at 1.5 bar, ideal for that power level imo without being overly laggy. T34 will have more grunt at the top end if that's your thing but probably not quite as driveable as the t3 in reality.

mine is on a t34 and there is no real lag swapped over from standard turbo to this one and the lag is pretty similar but when it does come in then you really notice it and as when your giving it some stick you always change gear and end up back in power band again so straight to boost but mine is on a tubular manifold and avoid anti lag with what you got

this is why i asked as i have the following spec

gotech mfi and braided loom
power engineering stage 3 big valve head and hi lift cam (but going newman with solid lifters)
arp stud and nut kit with genuine ford head gasket
fully lightened and balanced bottom end and fly wheel
pec steel rods
wozsner low comp forged pistons
acl bearings
custom field motorsport inlet and custom billet fuel rail
dark green 803 injectors
airtech front mount and radiator
airtech breather kit
autospecialists stainless manifold
stage3 t3
ap paddle clutch

so was wondering wether a tubular manifold and t34 would be ok or keep my turbo and manifold

If you only want 250@fly then get the smallest turbo that will flow enough, keeping lag to a minimum!
So a Stage 3 T3 would probably be the one or if your feeling flush a nice GT28rs

i was thinking about this manifold and turbo as it looks the tits but if it drives like shit then it aint worth it

it would seem your t3 stg3 is laggier than my t34 then but i'm of the belief that my ex manny is helping with response but no real proof only it seems to pull well from lower than everyone was expecting
