To right! why should all these goddamn "cannonballers" have any fun with there cars. They are meant to get you to work and back and that's it. Fun is soon to be illegal along with everything else!

I don't go to cruises so I think they should be banned.

lmao, I think a bit of background information is needed here. 2 deaths in 2 years and a crash pretty much every night on a stretch of road in the area where the poster was put up may explain it. Sitting/standing with your cars and having a chat isn't something that's banned on there and most of the other things are illegal anyway.

I always see army landies/trucks driving around to/from barracks. They going to arrest them all for driving in convoy
Oh no, they're only going to if the drivers are young and look like they like cars

It's nothing new. The police have have had the power to stop cruising for a good few years now. It's not the 'fun' they're trying to stop, it's the public menace. Sadly the public don't like gatherings of cars and the police have to be seen to be doing something about it.

On the whole cruisers are full of 17 year old gob-shites who need to grow up anyway. There used to be this twat in a Punto who used to rev his engine and switch it off so it made a loud bang. All he did all cruise was this, and then go home. He never even ventured out the piece of shit.

There should be controlled events were there are stuards and you pay a couple of pound to get in. I mean proper' stuards, who will tell people like the mongole above to fuck off.

Exactly Glenny, you behave yourselves and act like adults and the police wont bother you.

The public dont like it because they are fed up of the idiots who ruin it for everyone. Im sure most of the public wouldnt give a shit if some kids want to sit in an empty car park and talk to each other about cars. They do get pissed off when idiots with loud exhausts race round all night outside thier homes, cut them up and cause a general nuisance.

So true

Sadly cruisers have failed to "self-police" and drive out the knobheads so the police will do it for you now and likely ban the whole thing.

Us car modifyers/enthusiasts need to distance ourselves from the "cruising scene" as otherwise we will be regarded the same as the CHAV twats and we will get screwed over. Self preservation is needed, cruising is going under fast and we dont want car modifying to be dragged with it.

The only good thing about a cruise is when someone trys to pull a 'stunt' which results in either a car crash or another chav being injured. That's the only positive to ever come out of them.

I see it's 'Staffordshire Police' that has printed that bit of malarky. Perhaps they should sit up at longford mc'donalds in Cannock and they'd be able to catch em all in one go. Quite amusing to watch the 'french-hot-hatch-krew' drive their fibreglass-kitted beasts round and round and round the mc'donalds carpark, then parked up - looking all cool for the 12 yr old ladyeez to admire the shit cars with all the stick-on bits from halfords.

Or perhaps the cops should drive up and down the 'orbital way' in an unmarked car. Catch a bombload driving like pillocks.

Can freely admit i'm the first person to give the car a bit of stick on an empty open road. You're a liar if you tell me that youve never done it.

But I dont do it 'like a twat' - cutting people up and driving dangerously close to unaware road users. I dont sit at mc'donalds eating cardboard burgers all night having a competition with the car next to me as to who can generate the biggest pile of litter next to my car.

These feckers SHOULD have their license revoked if caught acting like a knob.

I've been stopped a few times by the plod for driving a wee bit quick, but after stopping me and speaking to me for a minute - they see im *not a chav-twat* - comment on how they haven't saw an orion mk2 in ages, and send me on my way with little more than a 'dont let us see you doing it again'.

Chav-twats get on my tits. They are a nuisance to the world and should be eradicated from the roads or at least moved to a private continent or something. I hear spain is quite nice these days.

Rant over.

Unfortunatly it is in my experience that most cruisers dont give a shit about the rest of the public.

I was a proper cock in the cruising scene but tbh im glad I am not in it anymore.

Having said that when I went to visit Chip and we went out to a cruise at night, everyone was respectfull, alot older, and nice to talk to. Maybe its a Plymouth (and cornwall) thing ? :S

two or more vehicle so what if a group of you are following some to a car show or something does that count as an illegal cruise then. im sorry but this country is become a massive joke, they dont want kids to mess about but the shut dow everything for kids to do and everything's so expensive. i h8 the chav's in saxo's and shitty little car but everyones been there and done it at least once

but its just becoming a joke soon they'll wana pass a law that will stop you changing your car in any way like adding alloys or what ever having to keep them completely standard

Sorry but there's shit loads more for kids to do now than 20-30 years ago and most kids have a massively bigger disposable income than kids 20-30 years ago.

You didnt see that many kids playing around in motors a long time ago as they couldnt afford them!!

Exactly, their own selfish stupidity has caused the bans. reap what you sow etc. Shame they will lump us genuine enthusiasts in with the dickheads as the same kind of people.

Some of the Old Cruisers use to be pretty decent WITH the idiots involved .. I remember a Lad being pulled around in a shopping trolly behind a rover Turbo while His mate was hanging on the bonnet .. PMSL ..

A Saab Turbo and C20LET Corsa owning everthing in the Car park (Yeah even Cheque Book Cossies!!!)

The bubble burst at Spillers when that Kid got Killed .. Since then its just Wank!

So what happens when everybody is heading to ford fair? 2 year imprisonment for everyone in the silverstone area?

Would love to see them police that and try and get a 2 year conviction out of anyone.

they wouldnt be able to do that chopshop as its impractical.

But yeah in theory a group of cars having an arranged meet before a show could potentially be breaking the law. As well as regular RSOC or local group meets at pubs unless the pub car park is shut to the public etc.

Sadly i cant see us stopping these laws becoming national as the CHAV cunts wont behave no matter what anyone says or does so this government will have no option but to ban it.

Wont stop genuine car enthusiasts but will just make things more difficult. Means local group meets might cost us money as youd probably have to shut off a section of a pub car park to make it "off road" and hence outside jurisdiction, and a publican might rightly want to charge for the privilege etc. Or we would be force to have the meet inside the pub as theres no law about groups of people parking up and having a drink in a pub!!

This thread really has gone a bit too far, I know of these injunctions in 3 places in my local area. Hams Hall, Cannock (probably more specfically the orbital) and Festival Park and it's all because of racing/people driving like pricks. I won't lie, I was a regular attender at all of these places to watch the racing (never seen the point in getting involved tbh). So I guess this injunction is aimed squarely at people like me. There not trying to stop you standing in a car park having a chat ffs

No si, they arent trying to stop you having a chat, but that will be the end result of the legislation sadly!!!

Its already illegal to race on the highway or drive dangerously. that hasnt discouraged the CHAVs though has it??? so what else can they target?? make it illegal for them to gather in groups and theres less reason to race round. As you admitted, people went to watch and im sure many raced to impress those watching etc. Take away the ability to meet in groups and then they can only drive fast on thier own which defeats the point of cruising/racing. Problem solved

Of course but to do that means those who want to meet and just chat cars and do no harm etc will also loose out.

But thats the way this country is policed nowadays as people wont take responsibility for thier own actions so overpolicing is the governments solution.
