as above its stated on the paper bit of my licencen that i was banned for 6 months 2 years ago any 1 no when this will come of or will it be there for ever to hunt me

 

4 years 2 take it off.

3 years it wont count, but a years probation or something

i was told that after 3 years, its not counted against you, as long as you keep the license clean for another 12 months, if you do get in trouble in that time, they might bring them in2 consideration something like that, i wasnt really listening in court, i was 2 pissed off

 

aye as everyone else has said 4 years before it can come off,but then you usually have to ask for it to come off even if you send you it in for a change of adress it will still be on there unless you do

i asked this the otherday mate, with the intension that my ban (21 days) would come off if i changed address, it now seems that the coooonts at DVLA now screw you for nigh on Ł20 to get it removed....

a ban/ pints are now on your license for 4 years, after this time they can removed.

you have to declaire points/bans to the insurance for 4 years also.

is that defo true mate as i got 5 points in court lol but i was caught in march but convicted in april it is the conviction date that is the date on my licence

 

date of conviction + Offence both on ya licence....

points run from date of conviction not date of offence.

stays on ya licence for 4 years.

have to declare it to insurance for 5.

What a load of bollocks

Convictions stay on your license for three years , after that you can have them removed .

I have just removed an SP10 I got in Decemeber 2001 and yes I did have to pay Ł19 for them to be removed

I never understood why insurance companys ask if you have been convicted in the last 5 years simply because if they are removed after 3 years then DVLA remove it from your record

Also a BAN only lasts for three years too , I KNOW I GOT BANNED IN NOVEMBER FOR A WEEK

When I was in court I asked the magistrates how long the ban would appear on the license and they also said 3 years

DONT LISTEN TO THE OB WHO TELL YOU ITS 4 YEARS

If your convicted of Death by Dangerous driving or Drink driving and banned for it then they stay on for 10 years

 

Just use a bit of Tipp-Ex Rapid Correction Fluid

I knew YOU knew what you were talking about, as like you, this is also very important to me, as I have 9 points (that are not counted from 06 April 2005 - although date of conviction was over a year later ) .

you are correct mate 11 years from date of conviction for offences relating to drink/drugs and driving, causing death by careless driving whilst under the influence of drink/drugs and causing death by careless driving then failing to provide a specimen for analysis and 5yrs for insurance purposes


i know because my brother got done for drink driving sad i know he was 5.5 x over the limit

he was banned for 4 yrs and after the 4 yrs ban he couldn't get any insurance after that... he could but the premium was sky high

Most bans its 4 years from Date of offence , So if you can hang the court date out long enough

Like mine did 19 months your only stuck with it on your licence for 2 ish years

...

Also few thoughts for you

Data Protection act you dont have to disclose your points to anyone incl insurers

However they do have a clause that says if they were to find out that your a lying fudge packer they will invalidate your insurance

They only check when there is a claim processed to protect themselves ( i thiknk thats fair )

They will normally ask for your licence to be sent it to them at claim point to confirm your points etc

SO


if you know your likely to be banned get points etc

Think about writing to the DVLA with Ł20 or what it is and ask them for a replacement licence for the one you have lost ... This will arrive with your CURRENT endorsements etc

Then when you go to court give them the licence to endorse etc knowing that you have one in your pocket thats clean/er this also helps when you are trying to hire a car

I currently have 2 licences (Both now cleaner than a virgins knickers)

The 3 year rule has stated is for the courts to take into consideration . IE if yoru court for the same type of offence later they will assume that you havent learnt from the last time and hit you harder

After 3 years they will not be told of your "previous"

Your only have to declare the ban/points if your insurance company asks for last 5 years.

But if you have had all your points/ban removed after 4 years from your license then i dont see how they can do that?!?!?!

I got banned over a year ago for 3 months for collecting too many points in 3 years and i'm gettin raped for my insurance now

yeah nige about the draging it out i dont that when i forgot my mot, then had to get one then i said i couldnt attend court then they just said fook it and had it with out me and charged me a extra 30 quid for the privlage !!!!!!

Yep, it's only worth hanging out if they are likely to ban you, otherwise they will just sentence you in your absence. However, if they are considering a ban, you have to be present.
