Default swimming pools

anyone got,had or know anything about swimming pools, not full size olympic jobs ,but you can buy good wooden frame jobs for about 6 grand that are big enough for a nice dip ie 6m x 4m and can be integrated into decking etc.
Anything good or bad,as am interested

Gareth you can get people to do it for you mate. Our local pool place charges about £1500 for the entire year. Thats cleaning the pool and maintaining the water (they come once a week in the summer and once a month for the really cold winter months when no-one sane uses an out door pool.

Not sure on heating costs but its not that mental.

Not sure if it is what you want Matt but I've been looking into an 'Endless Pool' (pool with a current from www.endlesspools.co.uk) for me nd the missus. It's around 3.5 x 5.5 m long and doesn't need too much maintenance. It can also be assembled inside or out and taken apart when you move (remember that a pool doesn't add anything to your house price...rather takes it!). With the exchange rate at the moment it costs about £12k. We're personally hoping to put it in an extension but we'll see what mortgage rates are doing in the summer.

Off hopefully to try one at the w/e so can let you know if your interested.

Dave

My stepgrandad had an outside heated one in the late 70s (He was seriously rich!)

He used to clean it himself and it was a peice of piss really. Had a bubble wrap type cover that floated on the top when not in use, so never really got that much shit in it.
Then it the winter he either put a huge heated dome over it (how much would that cost?!) or drain it, then a quick scrub up before refilling for the summer.
It was about quarter the size of an olympic
Rich fooker.... shame ive not seen him for years, could do with some cash lol

Auntie's got an indoor one. Cost her £120k to build in total (well wedged up) and it's the nuts.

I use it regularly, got my own key !!!! Don't know what the maintenance costs are - doubt she even knows...........she just pays it !!
