Nice link seems to be a lovely yb powered 5 in there

Might have to join up as just picked this up at the w/e (though think turbo has gone, white smoke pours out of it now )

It is well worth joining, if not for the private pod day and track day, then for the discounts you will need. Lol
21 looks nice, ditch the eyebrows and paint the cooler body coloured and it will b well smart.
I dunno if u noticed but the newsletter was written by d4wno u might remember from the old days of csoc?

How could I forget Dawn I did join the forum for a bit when had Brett Mansfields old 5, then it went back to paid members only. Does Mr Dilley still hang around?

Yeah 21 ownership is looking costly already (not as costly as cossie onwership) (luckily the one had a few years ago was mechanically sound just bodywise not prettiest). Wasn't too sure about the eyebrows either, I like the i/c hanging out look

If the smoking is stem seals are they a bitch to do?

awesome 21 turbo im a member on the rtoc so could ask around if stem seals are an easy or awkward job.

would love drop a 21 turbo engine in my 5gtt but it would have go in the back and tbh i dont want a super noisy car inside lol

what spec is your engine fella ? i know there is a guy selling a gt28rs turbo over on the rtoc for Ł400, would make a cracking turbo for the 21

good but a bloody painful money pit, i liken them to clarksons ref on alfa romeos they will always give you some sort of prob but there will be that odd day when everything works as it should and they are just amazing

eg bloody piston rings have given up on mine so im unsure if im sticking with the c1j and doing a mini bottom end rebuild and adding a fast road cam or converting to the b18ft 1.7 turbo engine

Thanks but a little over budget (although would it bolt straight on ) just want to try a cheapy second hand one to see if it is indeed the turbo at fault and not something more sinister, don't know if non RTOC members are allowed to post wanted ad's? I guess any T3 will do (don't want to have to muck about adjusting too much, have tried a couple that are being broken on ebay with not much luck) apart from the front mount and cone filter I don't think anything else has been done to it (haven't looked through all the receipts yet)

Get yourself on 21toc.com
you need to register but not pay, you will get astd turbo for about Ł100 or a hybrid for Ł150ish
to check if it's the turbo or engine causing the oil leak, remove the turbo from the manifold, if there's oil in the manifold then it's the engine, if the manifolds clean and dry then it's the turbo.

As I said on 21toc, any other turbo than the one for the 21 would need the manifold skimming flat and use of a gasket.

GT28RS would also require a remap ideally.

Couple of people said they have spares on 21toc just waiting to her back from them, hopefully it'll be up and running again soon

pretty sure they go on with a modified oil feed, id seriously look into a gt series turbo they are much better than old t3s, but obviously you need one pretty quick so maybe you can drop on a nice hybrid t3
