or which wire does what on the multi plug.

just for when i refit the engine into the escort later-seem to remember it being quite straight forward regarding what i need to connect up to live,earth,rev counter etc but its been a long time since ive played about like this!

will prob become obvious when i remove the loom from the sierra later on but thought it may be best to have it to hand on here for reference......

just pulled it out of the donor car......

only 5 wires by look of it-1 goes to battery,1 goes to switched live,1 goes to fuel pump,then there are 2 that were spliced into the plug going into the rear of the clocks-presume one is for rev counter-not sure what other one is at mo.

 

six wires

black ign feed
green rev counter
red/blue perm live
black/red fuel pump
brown/white temp sensor
green/brown oil pressure

 

unless its a 2wd loom, if so then it doesnt have oil light on engine loom

Some 4wd sapphy didn't have it either, and there are two different colours used for this.

looks easy enough.......

the escos hasnt got a proper loom as such.
