Hi guys,

I took the car out today ran fine, got a bit frosty then took it out about 10 mins into journey it gained a misfire so picked up my mate and went to garage put a tener of super unleaded in to fill tank and added fuel cleaner. I also bought wd40 and sprayed the bay as had this problem before but wouldnt start. This seemed to help with the wd40 and drove all the way home with no problems. parked car up and went in for 10mins I came back out and car had gained this misfire again and wont go away this time I think it may be to do with spark as I was crawling home and the emissions were very bad and was stinking of petrol really really bad. its an 1.8 zetec any help gladly appreciated

 

its all ok guys I replaced leads nothing changed so went and got a set of spark plugs and seems to have sorted it out so hopefully that all it was as I havent given her a road test

 

BOSCH plugs by any chance ?, famous for missing in zetecs.

My 1.6 seems to be running rough/possibly missing too, got bosch leads, not sure on the plugs though. Whats the best plugs/leads to use?

 

Bosch leads are ok, but had many troubles with thier plugs leaking when in zetecs.

it was bosch plugs in it but it still has the problem, my ford mate says the coil pack? as these are bad for going also?
