my escort is on its 2nd auto box the first went bang and the 2nd i bought from scrappy but now is on way out i spoke to couple auto box garages they said it no worth repairing it as ford gave up on that box said it was crap,still looking to do 2.0 conversion from mondeo.But if i kept the 1600 lump would it be poss to bolt on a 1800 or 2.0 mondeo gearbox as this box is better?

 

I am not 100% sure by any means, but think it will fit, auto box guys should know though.
If getting a mondy autobox, don't get a early one, just in case it hasn't had the warranty repairs done they needed, they had massive clutch probelms on the early auto boxes inthe mondy.
