Hi guys managed to fix my blue wire problem with alternator but now the battery light is on. The car starts and runs on idle aint took it a spin yet as not mot or tax. Possibly just need a run to charge or new battery? Goes for mot tomorrow so will get a small run in which I will give it some shoe and see if it goes out.
You have connected to right terminal? On many alternators there are different terminals normally spare, which are not used for your car, it should go on the "IND" terminal. If connected to another then you will just have permanent earth on the bulb so will stay on all time. Sounds like what may have happened it should go out as soon as car is running.
Certainly is not a battery fault that has nothing to do with it.

All the other terminals are output, even the "W" where fitted(single phase tapping)
What you need to do is make sure the alt is charging, oddly enough it still can even with the light on, depending where the fault if any lies, it can also not charge with the light off as well, revving above 4000rpm should be enough to initiate charging even without blue wire connected, if it doesn't it is duff, just put a metre on there, you will see an increase when the engine is running, if charging.
