Light flickering on is normal, whats the problem connecting?
Have you chosen the correct port and baud rate, are you using a USB - RS232/Serial adapter? Is the ECU powered up?

normal pal, it's just the injectors priming.
if you disable priming, i.e. set to zero in the table, then it won't happen IIRC.
ideally you need a bit of priming though just to clear the lines of air and get a bit in the manifold for hot/cold starts.

if MS1, then 9600
if MS2 then 115200

are you using a usb to serial cable?
if so make sure it has the right drivers and you check your com port in control panel-sytem-device manager select ports and check the settings.
set the buffering to lowest setting to keep reliable too.

just check which com port it should be on using the previous settings to determine and set the megasquirt to the same com port, and use the baud rate settings i've also done above, these are specified by the developers.

Where did you buy your ECU from? All the info you need to set it up with your lappy should be on the cd you got with it in a step by step guide.

If not then here you go............

MS Setting should look like this, but your Port should match whatever COM Port your computer shows in the screen shot below in this case COM 6.

To get to this screen, right click My Computer, Properties, Device Manager..

In the above screen shot yours will not say USB Serial Port because that is my USB to Serial adapter and you are not using one, so it will just say COM # or Serial Port or somthing like that, should be pretty easy to spot as it wil probably be the only Serial device plugged into your PC!

You may also need to double click that and change the following setting to the same baud rate as MS which is 115200..

you need to open the case and take a pic of the circuitry from above, easy to undo though, the two top screws on either side of the case and lift off.

MS1 pal, no daughter card with the faster processor on top.
you've been robbed mate, value of an MS1 is about £100 less than an MS2 from what i've found.
