if you go into a shop they have them all turned on, and you can see straight away which is best and which screen is brightest/more crisp

This is an arguement that will go on for years until LED TV's become common place. My advice would be go around the shops, look at them all and buy the one you like. I have just bought a new TV and in the end the deal breaker for me was the best deal i could get.

Got a 42" Panasonic Plasma earlier in the year, very happy with it.

The best Plasma's are Pioneer apparently however cost a fortune, Panasonic are next best.
Was told by 'Sound and Vision' shop who sell quality stuff to not bother with Samsung.

Did you know although you have normally from the shop a 1 year warranty on your plasma, most manufacturers actually have a 3 year warranty but the shop don't tell you that. did they replace it or did you just buy a new one

Ditto bar who told me that.

Can't fault my 42" plasma Panasonic set. So pleased I'm considering a second for the bedroom when I get as far as decorating it

I have a 43 pioneer plasma I bought 3 years ago all I can say it is excellent when playing games and blu ray/ HD I did pay 1650 for it but the old saying you only get what you pay for is true . I am in the Market at moment for a 37/40 screen for bedroom and like the look of led or the panisonic range LCD ,a couple friends have samsung LCD screens but have had problems with lines appearing on screen so make sure u get a long 5 yr warranty . Neil
