there cheep enough but im putting one in a connect and even that aint easy ;
if you where to do it use a 2.3 volvo lump much better for high power as you cant get 350 without it braking the block in half

the only reason people are saying it cant be done is becuase nobody has done it, but people have done wilder conversions in the past that were deemed impossible. uv just got to get creative.

I was going to use a MPS 2.3 turbo in my mk2, (2.3 duratec turbo)
but i wanted to go N/A i have been told by numerous people not to convert it to N/A because the crank is too heavy etc and there are no N/A cams available for the head. so either i put a duratec N/A head on and have pistons made, or change crank rods and pistons. ??

if you want to stay with the turbo option, go for a MPS engine
260 bhp standard same mountings as a duratec conversion rwd parts off the shelf. no turbo lag brilliant engine. bomb proof.
Steel crank and rods as standard, bigger small ends for strength, thicker and cross drilled cooling walls, head is also cross drilled between valves to get rid of heat. bearings will go upto 500 bhp.
If you want some pics of engine mounting area etc give me a shout.

i was lookin into t5 ing a old for and me and my mate from work reckon its do-able! you should be able to use a gearbox from a 960! as previously said the engine mounts would have to be specially fabricated! but i reckon its 100% do able with time!
