Default Forgotten how good they are but know I love them

I haven't owned an rst for 2 yrs and it's 3 yrs since I sold my favourite series 2. I toying with the idea of buying another one next yr. It would be a daily so wouldn't be mint but I would price myself away from tat. I currently own an octavia vrs 1.8t. It's a fast reliable sturdy car but not paticularly exciting. I knew before buying it that I prefer older cars character but must admit I like refinement of a newey.anyway my question is do you think I would get into rs and think it's a slow crude thing compared or would I have that special feeling again. The answer is u prob don't know but has anyone gone from a new car to an old one? How did it feel?

can you not buy the S2 and buy something like a basic focus then you will have the best of both worlds.

i went from an evo 5 to a 3 door and loced it so much more than the evo from the second i drove it, same as when i got my s1 after my rs2000 4x4! olser cars have a raw feeling that newer reliable cars lack, nothing like thrashin about in a 20 year old car when every one else has scoobs and evos

Are you sure the horrid gearbox and lack of floorpan and chassis legs wont put you off

Lovely cars just very very old now and been too affordable to spotty faced spunkbuckets so not many nice examples left

sometimes though they should remain a good memory, I bought a S2 RST a couple of yrs ago after i had not owned one in a few years (i had 3 previous) and i wish i hadnt i did have found memorys of my RST's untill my last one, gearbox was like stirring porridge no power steering broke down down 5 times with different faults every time all in the space of 2 months so it got sold and i will never have another RST just to old and unreliable for me now.

I would honestly keep the VRS mate if you are going to be usued everyday

That's sense talking. it's bloody boring though. "oh look I'm doing 99mph but it's calm enough to read paper lol"

I see what u are saying but both rs turbos I've had have been great.... and I hope to be able to get another as good. They do look soooo nice. Dunno what it is about them!!
