Default mt 75 gearbox

my cosworth has very small whine in 4th and 5 th gear i have decided to change gearbox there a few on ebay, just simple question all they all the same? all 4x4 gearboxes.

this is the one i bought for only £52!! but is it the correct one?

no they are not all the same, they look it but they are not. The clutch piviot pin is different in a DOHC, the ratios are different and the output shaft might be different there are two types.

itl fit mate,just change the pivot pin and fork from ur old box over and the gearstick cradle and then use the 3 long threaded bolts from ur own rear output flange and il be find ,ratios will be differeny but shudnt be enough to cause harm

ive been wondering this as i want a big tooth gearkit, maybe an oppliger but i would rather get a cheap box and get it built up, then i can do a straight swap.

Yust get a box whit broken 3gear, you get them for cheap.

have you tried changing the oil in your gearbox and making sure its at the right level? low oil can make them whine in high gears.

so i can fit the gearbox i already bought?

how hard is it to change the pivot pin and fork which i been told is diffrent

The rear output flange can differ too. There are two types, one takes the early thick rubber donut, the other takes the thin later type donut. You need the matching donut and front section of the rear prop for everything to match up nicely

are they fuck the same. the cossy is geared for 3.62 diffs has a 25 tooth input shaft the DOHC is geared for 3.9 diffs and has a 26 tooth input shaft. If you had two cars side by side you can tell the difference especially on boost.
