Default Is Sky+HD actually worth it?

Hi all

I see sky have currently got an offer on, I can upgrade to Sky+HD with the movies pack for an extra £18 a month.

Those of you that have it, do you think its worth paying the extra for? I can't seem to find on their website, is the extra movie packs HD or normal quality? I rent probably 2 blu-rays a month, thats £8 a month, so if I can watch them on the telly then thats got half the cost covered!

Cheers

Rich

I dont have sky or hd at home but a few friends do.

I have to say I am extremely impressed by it, but the cost of the tv and the sky hd box and package might be expensive for the benefits.

It is good though

Have you got a HD ready TV???????????????

Because if you have, which i would assume you have........Whats the point in having it without having a HD input.....

It really does make me laugh the amount of people who have HD TV's but no HD input to them......

Oh, And Yes...Sky HD is superb for sport, films and documenties ie, Wildlife ect ect

The sound is 10 times better on the HD channels, you get proper 5.1 Dolby Digital rather than the Pro logic that comes with pleb TV

Same as others have said, why pay the dosh for a big hd telly then not use its capabillities??

Sky HD is ace. Sports, films and documentaries all look the dogs.

well recommended here.

Keep thinking about getting it, but is it worth an extra 120 notes a year to watch the same programmes I already pay for?

Because not everyone can justify the cost. I'd like an HD input, but I don't think the extra quality over standard is worth the full cost of a Sky HD subscription when the Freeview picture is perfectly watchable and free.

I just find it strange that people will spend thousands on an all singing and dancing tv.......but then wont spend £10 a month to get the best out of the TV........

Like having a 500bhp Cosworth that you never take over 50mph.........

Each to there own i guess....

But why does it make you laugh Mark? Ive got two HD ready TV's and not a single HD input to them! Why? As i wanted a plasma in the room and one in the bedroom, why have i got HD ready, cos the tellys i liked have got hd ready!!!!! I dont personally give a toss about the picture getting better than it is, for the amount of TV i watch its 100% fine

Stick that in ya soil stack
