ebay question - non-delivery
hi guys,
been searching ebay for the answer to this question but can't find it anywhere, maybe one of you could help?
i won a bid and paid via paypal. the guy said that he sent the item the day after i paid, which would've been the 18th of dec. Its still not arrived.
what's the deal if it doesn't arrive? do i just lose my 63 quid?
i'm going to give him another working week, cause its slow being the xmas period, but if someone knows the answer to my query, i'd be very grateful.

How did he send it ?
Royal Mail Std Parcels can take anything upto 2 weeks to arrive, and with the holidays you can add on another week.
If you paid by paypal and he's a decent seller he could refund your money until it turns up, then you could just repay him. All that relies on trust tho'. What sort of feedback rating does he have ?

Don't want to seem like a b'stard, but if it was sent unrecorded (e.g. 1st/2nd standard) you don't really have any hope of proving whether they sent it or not
I've lost out like this a couple of times

You still get a proof of posting receipt with 1st/2nd class standard
Always ask your seller if he is posting an item this way to obtain it for you and if you need it later on he can email it or take a pic to prove he's posted the item.

had this with an mp3 player from japan, you can get paypal to look into a refund or you can get ebay envoled which i did , the links are there somewhere you just have to find em, or if you dont have any luck there ask for a refund from your credit card if that applies with you.

the onus is on the seller not the buyer, if you buy something and it doesnt turn up you cant claim but the sender can if the item is insured, you are perfectly entitled to claim your dosh back , if anyone is sending anything by post they should always get at least a sig on reciept (recorded), buyers are less inclined to say the item hasnt arrived if they have had to sign for it, cheers nomad
I ALWAYS send via Special Delivery if the item is small of Parcel Force 48hr if its larger....... Both services require a signature, I DO NOT offer any other service due to the fact people try it on

The Consumer Credit Act is the piece of legislation that allows you to reclaim from the Card Company but that only applies to purchases of Ł100 - Ł30,000, and I don't know that the Card Company would accept responsibility in this case where the transaction is a tri-partite agreement with a Seller, Buyer, and Intermediary (PayPal).[/quote]
not exactly sure what paypal is ? i have heard they put money into your account but will take it back again if they find the card used by the buyer is stolen, they ought to refund if no goods arrive ,they fookin charge enough interest
cheers nomad

PayPal is a money transfer service:
If I buy something from you, I pay the cash to PayPal, they pay it to you, and you send the goods. Or at least that's what is meant to happen.
It offers three advantages over traditional cash/cheque/postal order in the mail:
It is quicker,
I can pay you using a credit card or switch,
I can prove you have been paid.
