m8 i worked in a shop for years the only reason they open was cos other shops decided top as people wanted to go too the sales early

my be harsh choice off words but if you had to go in too work today you would not be happy as you would not have been able to drink xmas day

you are right is is down to the big cheeses off companys but if people did not bother and waited one more day then least more people could enjoy christmas with there familys instead off being stuck in work

I think virtually everything should shut down for xmas day and boxing day, no non essential stores should be allowed to open, ie pc world, curys etc.. and the rest of the usual suspects. Would the money these stores make on boxing day suddenly disapear or would these people wait and spend it the next day.

No such thing as an "essential store" IMO - no-one has any need to go 'shopping' for anything for 2 days IMO, every shop in the land could close properly for at least 2 days..

I went shopping today, because why the hell not.

If the shops are open, I'm going.

If they're not open, I'm not going.

At work tomorrow anyway...........

Hit the boxing day sales here at 7am! Was stuffed from Christmas day but they are worth it here. Got some nice shirts and ties for work. Was out by 9am! Well worth the trip. Got a couple of Ralph Lauren shirts for 40quid each so chuffed with that!
