Default ebay sellers-getting worse on there.

i won 6 cars on there over last 7 days.not one had anything bad in the description that would put me off.i only hpi cars once i have won the auctions.......

lexus is200 cat c
astra 2.2 sri cat c
saxo vtr finance outstanding
bmw 318is finance outstanding

i won a focus that was a p/x to clear from a largeish garage-decent description.i almost didnt hpi it as it was coming from the trade but i did-cat d. guy is now saying i should have checked it before bidding.....

last night i won a bmw compact, only saw it advertised with a minute to go and was local so i bid and won.emailed them straight away to tell them i would collect it first thing in the morning with cash but they insisted on £50 deposit as said in ad-it was 11pm when i won it so i said no point ill just come tomorrow, but they insisted they wanted £50 in their paypal.i checked their feedback and 4 very bad reports about cars they have sold being not as described, falling apart, full mot-clearly not valid vosa informed.......which worried me a bit.
i emailed them and told them i wanted to see the car first because of all these bad feedbacks but they said dont come unless you send us £50 beforehand.so i told them where to stick the car.
cheeky fuckers have said they want to report me for non payment.
and so has the trader who was selling the cat d focus!

why dont they just be honest in the first place?
the lexus owner was really shocked that their car was cat c and actually took advice from me about how to readvertise it,the astra owner obviously knew as he didnt contact me again, the saxo lad owed £1700 on a £1000 car,and the bmw guy promised me he was going to keep paying the monthy instalments on the finance!!!

on the other side of ebay though,i travelled to essex to buy a celica-exactly as described.car bought.
went to wales for a bmw-better than described-car bought.

getting few and far between now though on ebay......

you can still get good motors on e-bay i got a 300 quid mk4 escort a while back that an old dude had in aberdeen and it was mint but advert implied that it was an old car needing some work, i think some people actually look at ther car and think , yeah thats minted when actually its a bucket , either that or there just lyin c##ts!

pot luck on ebay nowadays; nowhere near as many bargains, but having said that alot off traders i know buy of ebay rather than travelling to auctions

the problem is ebay exploded in popularity, so it attracted every tom, dick and harry with an internet connection

you will always get chancers selling shite and advertising it as mint

plenty of chancers out there, got to be extra careful, fair play for refusing to pay the deposit.

if i hpi every car i place a bid on at £5 each ill soon be skint, only to lose 90% of them to higher bidders or their mates bidding them up.

if they are cat d/c etc i expect people to state the fact n the first place (if they know).surprising though how many have stuff they dont know has been wrtitten off.ive bought enough cat d cars in the past but for cat d money. the focus was w reg with 100k and was £920-lexus was v reg sport with 120k for £1700,so not a lot of wages in either car anyway!!!especially as one was in london and one was in durham-im in the north-west!

Sounds like you've had some proper bad luck there mate!

I've bought 3 cars off eBay, but went to see all of them before I bid - I know that's not always possible, but it's the only way I'd be prepared to bid on one.

Went to see a black Focus once, which the guy had described as mint only to discover it had had a pot of white gloss paint spill in the boot and go all down the rear panel and bumper. He'd used thinners or something and had fucked the paint. Car was a proper state inside too!
