Default Is Sky TV really worth it??

As above my current broadband contract with O2 ends in a month or 2 and looking at getting Sky. At the moment only got freeview and although me and the missus dont watch that much TV, the time when we do there is fook all on!!!!

It seems to work out not much dearer to get the Sky package with phone/broadband and TV in one rather than seperate broadband, BT line etc etc...

So, people that have Sky would they recommend it or think its a waste of time? I wont be getting Sky HD or movies/sports, just all 6 packages and a Sky+ box. Unfortunately we can't receive Cable TV in my area else I wouldve gone Virgin.

I've got the HD pack and IMHO it is worth it - but I like the Discovery and Nat Geo stuff, especially in HD

My O2 broadband was running at 4mb at £10 per month. My O2 is running 7mb (Due to line restrictions) for £10 per month,

I've got Sky HD and the Mrs watches it quite alot (Not really the HD channels) and I record the odd thing. It is worth having if you can afford it, but don't struggle to get it.

Yep - National geographic Wild, The History Channel and D-Max are all superb for wildlife programs.

BBC HD is brilliant for their wildlife stuff too

Sky1 HD is awesome for programs such as "House" (My fave program at the moment )

You're right there Kev - seem to be a few more adverts on Sky inbetween each program or program breaks

I couldn't live without sky and sky plus! Guess it's because we have kids too so they can watch various things.

I had sky and yes it aint bad for channels, discovery channels are good, always something to watch.

I used to get 3mb, think that was on an up to 10mb line and was pretty reliable.

Have switched to virgin 50mb line and not that impressed so far, fast yes but connection drops out regularly.

I wouldn't be without Sky+! Not least because you can easily series link stuff. I don't watch a lot of TV but like a few things that I never remember are on so it's perfect for me.

And fuck the adverts, wait for the programme to start, pause for 5-10 minutes, make a cup of tea/have a wank/do whatever then hit play and fast forward through the ads.

Sorted.

if you've got kids, sky is a godsend, because you simply let them watch a bit of what the ylike, then tell them to do what they wern't doing when they started to watch telly, get them tired, stick them in front of the box, wait for them to go to sleep

although that's not what i think it was invented for

their braodband is top notch as far as i am aware too, i do use it and it's never relaly let me down as far as i am aware

Had Sky + for 4 months, best thing I done, i've got sky+, phone and broadband ordered it and it was installed that weekend. I normally record everything so i can get rid of the f**king adverts. Broadband i got the lowest package think it's 5mg and it's pretty fast. Well worth it, best when ya can have the mates round watchin football or Boxing

i think its pants for the price you pay! i have sky HD full package like £60 a month jobbie may be a bit more with the HD as thats an extra tenner! like normal tv theres rarely anything worth watching on just stuff you seen months earlyer movie wise and the documentary seem to repeated quite a lot! HD is breath taking but not many channels! sky any time is pretty good if theres anything worth watching on there! and the sky+ is good to have also for obvious reasons!

so i would say its good but not for the price they charge for it! probs better off with a package deal! there on to a winner though as you think about it 10x full package viewers at £60 each soon adds up and they have more than 10 viewers! bit greedy really but thats the way everything seems to be going rather than value for money!

I pay £ 26.50 a month that includes the veriatity and music package, sky talk & broadband (2mb) i get a good speed in my area. I just pay the extra if there a match/boxing on. I’d keep an eye out in the paper cos there always special offers to be had or check the web site is the best bet.
