Is that not a hydraulic pipe across the chassis then?

nope

i'll not go into detail because it took us ages to design and perfect it but its electric, no fluid involved what so ever, thats why its quite light

very nice but you are only really looking at small cars on that to stay legal, with a carrying capacity of 1.28tons, limits you very much to small passenger vehicles, saxo/106/empty escort van

it could do with having the deck and some other bits made of ali to drop the weight a bit and the next one we do is going to have but i think we've done pretty well to get it to the weight is considering its all steel, the deck is the same board as ifor williams and the like use on thair trailers

been involved with recovery trucks for many years (gave 24hr up a good few years ago)

and spent far too much time ensuring weights are bang right. some nice ally box would drop that nicely down. you need 1500kgs free all up to take your average cars mate.

thats what we'll be aiming for on the next one, ally cross bearers, side raves, head board and an ally plank deck with grip tape, its going to cost a bit like lol its not cheap that stuff

aluminium is really expensive, but if you can weld it it is very nice and light yet strong.

the weight is what i was getting at when i ast if it had been upped. i think the name for the wood you used is kerosine & its fooking heavy stuff all our trailers & rigids have it as there floors so does our 7.5t recovery truck too. would be interested to see the all electric design yous have come up with

the way we have done it is pretty clever but i cant say anything because as far as i am aware nobody has made one like this before, it works superb to be honest

manages this with ease, it'll be overloaded but it yanked it on no problem, doesnt even look over loaded
