Default Focus rs mk1 ppl alarm fob

I have found 2 alarm fobs for my car with the rs logo & the car has 4 ultrasonic sensors! was this a optional extra alarm that came with them?

Yes it was an optional extra to have a cat1 alarm fitted from the factory,
The fob should be 'tear drop' shaped with a large button to the bottom right and a smaller one above left.

Like you say the easiest way to recognise them is with the 'rs' logo.

Hope this helps

Yeah the big right button is all i use. It locks the car and provides full system security. Top left does the usual, turn off sensors e.t.c.
Hope this helps bud

This was not an optional fit from the factory but standard.

The GT Alarm system (cat 1) was fitted as standard in order to reduce the insurance group.

The car will lock and lock the dead locks with the standard ford alarm system on the key without the "passive" cat 1 system.

The RS fob will operate the standard system and the Cat 1 system.

hope this helps

When locking your car you should press the ford key lock buttom twice untill indicators flash twice, this activates dead locks and ford alarm. Then press the big button on the fob once, indicators will flash once and a quiet beep will be heard, that activates the cat 1 alarm

Unlock, big button on fob first then open button on ford key.

The thing is thought you can lock your car with dead locks in place just on the Big Button offf the RS Fob. I was unsure and according to my local Ford garage this is an insurance approved method.

why didnt they just use the cat1 alarm like the one on the st170 which is cat1 and is all activated with the key fob rather than an extra one

Hi can any 1 help, having trouble with the stupid FRS GT alarm. I arm it by the fob (RS logo) and it just goes off after two secs. Checked for boot on the left where the black box is and am getting 5 LED flashes. Indicating bonnet sensor. Tried some WD40 on it still went off (Bonnet catch). Is there any way to reset the thing or am I doomed. (Only had it a week) the standard key fob works fine tho.

New bonnet switch or low (main car battery) voltage will set it off immediately.
