Thats my old car, sold to him for a lot less than he's asking for it. I sold it beginning of May, needed a lot of work. The bit of rust around the sunroof is actually quite a bit of rust. The battery tray he states its had at some point is the one he would have had to fit for Mot. Its not all its cracked up to be. I bought it in 06, it was driven for less than 200miles then parked up. I'd had immobiliser problems with it, hadn't been started for 2yrs when I sold it, as I understand there was a fair bit of rot underneath. If he has any history for it, i'd like to know where he got it, all he got from me was the receipt for a recon lump in 2000, there may have been some old mot's in the car, but not many, prob 3 at most. It has no V5 because I sold it without, I couldn't find it when I sold it, cant see why he hasn't applied for it.

Unless he's done a shit load of work since he bought it, no way is it worth 3k. And from the pics, its still got the bonnet on from when i sold, thats rotten as. From what I remember when I sold it, it needed new bonnet, front panel, doors (starting to go on bottoms), rust on rear quarter, rust on roof, drivers seat sagged, drivers doorcard shot, immob shot, windscreen shot, sunroof seized and twisted.

Should think so, haven't heard anything from Dvla regarding anyone applying for v5.

Main reason I sold it was I was losing my storage for it, I knew it needed work, the day I sold it was day I handed lockup back. I sold it for Ł250 in end, cos I was under impression it was pretty much shot, so to see it up for that much when he doesn't seem to have done much to it is a joke.

250! Wow. Wish I'd seen it for that much. I'd have restored it. What happens if he goes through a speed camera, or gets a parking fine? You'd get the fine!

Good job I've found it now then, I could always send it off as scrapped
only sold it for that cos I was backed into a corner, it got pulled out of the garage for him to look at, if it had gone back in it'd end up being cubed. He knew it and played on it. He'll have to change his ad now I've found V5, i'll be sending it off to change keeper. If I hadn't of lost the storage I'd have kept it and restored it.

Its rare enough as a K plate, but at the end of the day its still a 1989 car, only the reg makes it rare.

the rust on the roof is a serious problem, I was looking into having another roof skin grafted on, the current roof is fubar'd.

I remember this car from years back, one of my mates was chuffed as anything to find one newer than my 92 J-Plate so I posted here or RSOC asking about it. I'm sure this is the one that was an E or F plate then taken abroad... Holland I think? Brought back into the UK in 1992 and the DVLA messed up the re-registration and gave it a K-Plate, which is why its on 88-spec stuff rather than 90-spec.

Cheers,
Grant

Yes you sold it to me, I put it away with the intention of saving up to get it restored, but didnt happen quite how I planned.

I know, but not having a sellers account on ebay, or being a gold member on here, I couldn't, didnt really have much time to sell it in either.

We'd agree'd a price before he came to collect, which was cheap already, til he decided to take the piss and haggle even more, if he hadn't taken it, it would have ended up being cubed, and he knew it.
Its not the '3 owner' car he's selling it as tho.

Default K REG escort rs turbo

Hi KregRS

Can you send me any details of the car you had. I just purchased it off Ebay as a restoration project. Looking at posts I've found since I wish I had not. being delivered 8th Sept. you mention in a post about the number of keepers not being 3? been waiting to send off for the v5 till car was delivered, but did check the reg on the dvla site. Any help you could give me would be much appreciated.
thanks
Jim

well hello all, im glad u all had a good old slaging match about this car as its me who sold it on ebay (jsmith8930)
i done a hpi check on this car & it came back 3 previous keepers so cant see why it would have anymore now as i never applied for log book!

car was as described, small or large amount of rust, either way it will need a skin & i took allot of other pics of the car just incase any1 asked

rust around roof

small bubble on wing

tiny blister on lower rear quarter

light blistering on rear quarter

as for kregrs the blokes a complete knob!
i agreed a price & rang him about the condition of the car & when i turned up it was well worse then he descrbed/thought

i fitted a new sunroof & mech as that was knackerd
new rear brakes/cable
complete new set of brakes lines/front 2 rear etc....
had a few bits of welding done
kregrs (knobhead) had cut the alarm out & couldnt get it running as the plank 4got about the fuel pump cut off, all wireing was completely cut out & rejoined back to standard spec
another set of lifters were fitted as it was tapping like mad
car was cleaned inside & out & all broken trims etc.. replaced
car was put in for mot after work was done & passed
then the car sat around for monts as the old owner (kregknobhead) wouldnt give me the log book & threatend 2 send it off as scrapped, the he said he sent it off in my name & i never recieved anything???? so car continued to sit around waiting for log book to arrive which it did not
i aksed if he could send the greenslip 2 me so i could tax/use the car & he refused as he is again a KNOBHEAD

i bought a series 1 rs turbo as was fed up with driveing a crappy van everyday (reason why i brought k reg)

so the car was put on ebay as i no longer needed it & was in my way & sold as a tatty everyday runner or a resto project as its a rare car being on a k reg (even if its a 89 etc.... its still the only 1 on the k reg)

kregknobhead was being a knob as he was skint/on his arse & the car had 2 be gone (not by choice) & i bidded what i saw teh car was worth & was happy 2 walk away without it, he accepted the offer & the car was brought & every1 was happy

the car went 2 a local garage to have all the mot work done so add up the Ł250 & the mot Ł50 & the bill from the garage Ł300, the value of the parts i fitted Ł150ish & the recovery bill for picking the car up in the 1st place Ł150 & the day i took off work to pick it up Ł100

thats all i can think off of the top of my head but maybe a few more ŁŁ spent on it sumwhere inbetween like storage whiile waiting for log book the whole time i had it

so i made a small drink/profit on the car after all that hassel, ide have prob made more if i just got it running & ebayd it with no mot

as for door botoms being rotted off it & me fitting a battery tray etc..?????? the blokes a lier
