As per the question....
I'm going to the 'ring in august and was considering getting a pair of these...

Would I "feel" the difference with these over say a pair of Adidas Goodyears or would I be wasting my money?
cheers

not used proper race boots, but i had a pair of proper thin soled classics gone to a thinker soled pair and i can't drive on the limit as much and feel quite clumsy on the pedals, i have size 12's so really need to be on the ball cos most cars i can catch more than 1 pedal by accident
.
i would say they are a good investment but you'd have to get used to them at first cos it'll feel weird if your not used to having a lot of feel through your feet.

I don't do many track days but I do go on day long spirited drive's fairly often (miles and miles of country roads around me) which I guess are fairly similar.
I personally think the difference is incredible! But then again i normaly drive in 4inch heels!
But since i got the booties, they were great! for karting, track days, longs drives.....

Difference over a pair of Goodyears is minimal IMO
My advice is that if you already have Goodyears, don't bother, as they're going to be suitable for the job. If you haven't, then you may as well go for the boots.

i'd say from personal experience depends on your driving position. i've got some puma race boots for when i'm out in my kit car as i can't wear normal size 12 trainers without standing on at least 2 pedals at a time due to them being so close together and the boots are fine as my legs are pretty much straight out, but in my cossie i can't get on with them and the only thing i can put it down to is in the cossie my leg is at more of a angel due to not being sat only an inch off the floor!
as above, i have size 12 feet and like to wear a nice small boot for spirited driving but i have a pair of kangaroos that do the job nicely and don't look as gay as 'proper race boots'
IMO you'll look like a bit of a tool mincing around the ring paddock in your jeans, t-shirt and race boots.
A pair of well fitting trainers with thin soles are more than adequate!
