no one checked mine when i declared it and if its passed an mot since then then itll be roadworthy. they sometimes insist on an engineers report if your trying to take out an agreed high value policy.
Hi John,
As per fuzzy - we cover modified cars via a number of different Underwriters and the requirement would be for the vehicle to have a valid MOT.
For your own piece of mind (bearing in mind it will be you driving it) you could pay a local garage to check over the vehicle to ensure the modifications were fitted correctly. If you do this, keep the receipt as it shows any Insurer that you have taken additional precautions, which always goes down well with Underwriters.
Suspension and braking generally cause the most concern to Underwriters, as (for obvious reasons) with handling modifications these have the potential to cause the most serious claims.
If you'd like to see what we can do log onto www.greenlightinsurance.co.uk to apply for a free quotation.
Look forward to hearing from you
Kind regards
Tony
