I have been thinking about an uprated diff mount/hanger for my 3 dr cossie.
I have been advise against it though.
I'm not sure about this so has anyone got one fitted or some feedback would be good if possible on this.
As an alternative anyone know if Ford still stock these please?
I hope you can help.

Whoever told you not to either doesn't care about going round corners or is more into long distance comfy cruisers!!
I've spent 5 1/2 hours today making up a pattern roll bar to go on cossie's with the MC2 RACING poly mount, the bar is a 22m adjustable sort(3 points) fits perfect too, anyway back to the point.
I fitted a mc2racing poly mount and the difference is amazing, really does show how shit the std bush is.
I tried this for two months WITHOUT the rear roll bar, on purpose, to compare to the std bush with no roll bar, comapred with std bush the poly takes away 80-90% of the body roll.
Of course with the(new design) roll bar back on there is little if any roll at normal speeds, you do pick up vibration with the poly, but soon forget about it as it's not intrusive, the only odd thing I found was when the tank is at a certain level it makes a bit of a drumming sound at around 50mph 1/2 full, but sure a vibe pad on tank will cure this by tuning it out.
Now with the poly on when you hit a bump you lose 90% of the rear wheel steer effect, the stability is VASTLY improved beyond all recognition, the very slight downside is massively outweighed imo by the benefits, I always ask myself this, if I had to do it again would I, YES it's a no brainer for me.
Currently two std diff mounts sit in a lab in Northampton being anylysed for hardness and other things they do, then as soon as these are back with the new poly mixes, one of each type will be made and tested, these are based on a std mount but pressure injected and slow cured to increase shear strength, so will look almost std, be less than 1/2 the price, and not have any fitting problems or need anything different done.

Well worth doing I'd say Lee.
If you ever go for a larger dia rear ARB in the future you might get the problem in the first pic on the thread below if you don't get flush fit mount bolts - if you're sticking with the standard 14mm rear ARB on yours you should be OK - the problem might arise with the bigger 18mm/20mm/21mm rear ARBs but I'm not sure if you'll have to fit different mount brackets on yours anyway for the bigger rear ARBs as you have a 3-door

Yes 3 door mounts in totall different place, a lot further out, but some converted to the sapphy roll bar, as that actually does something unlike the 3 door bar.
22mm(rear arb) I found is too thick, makes rear too stiff promoting understeer as from slides wide.

Tony from Turbosystems also reckoned the Escort Cosworth type bar was too stiff for a Sapphire and makes the car a bit 'snappy' at the rear on a road car. The Sapphire 4x4 one is 18mm so might be a nice compromise if you want to change from a smaller diameter. You can also get a 'halfway house' one in between the Sapphire 4x4 and Escort Cosworth diameters.
Depends on how you drive and other factors though.
Probably best to try one change at a time and evaluate the diff mount first
The rear is unbeleivably planted with the 22m rear, the front is so bad now in comparison, I made mine adjustable anyway, but a simple play with shock settings will soon cure it.
I used 7/8" diametre EN16T sprung steel as would have to buy 22mm just for one job otherwise, 7/8" is close enough.
With the 3 door one being much longer, it acts like a much softer bar, even if it were at same diametre than the shorter sapphy item.
Had a quick measure for making/thinking about a complete different rear suspension set up, would be nice if something from another car/make could be grafted on.

Bumped front adjusties up 1 full turn, even at both ends and incredible, so controllable the feel is totally transformed, just so much confidence inspiring it's untrue, did think I might have to put on softer arb setting, but stiffening front 1 click sorted it, so thumbs up from me for 22mm.
