ERST S2 Engine Swap & Tidy UPDATE 19th March - Happy
Engine had blown at Santa pod. As engine is out wanted to tidy up the engine bay area as has not really been looked after.
Engine out

Think it has had some paint work on the front valance as the paint has gone really manky and has cracked.

Cause of Engine 1 Failure

More twist than torvil and dean

What caused that then?
I managed to pay a small sum for it and put a second hand engine in to get her going again now I want to get it to a clean spec car at the front and under the bonnet.

Erm,
Cleaned and polished the body.
Been a bit of a mare. My car is in a garage at a council block.
Pushed the car out so I could do the brakes. Coul not push the fooker back in. Could not get it over the lip of the sliding garage door. Had to ask 2 Chavs if they would help, but they did so
Then went to lock the garage door. went really stiff, I thought a key aint gonna beat me!!! it didnt SNAP. No Key. Garage not locked and
Car in a garage block on a council estate with a Sierra Cossie parked by the side of it and all stuff for me and my mrs house when we get one.
Phone the council. "Yes sir that'll be Ł400 for us to come out and fix that"
Yeah right ok.
So screwed the door shut with a pine shelf (I'll be dead if she see's that) to the actual frame of the doors.
Any way Lee SHUT THE FOOK UP And pull up the dam pics.
Here they are.

Bottom bit - Decided to underseal here before any other paint.

Not too bad really. Seen worse.

Close up of that cracking I mentioned.

Not all the way through, not 100% sure what to do here.

Been too the garage today and sat in the passenger seat for a hour or so. She looked so dam sad with no engine in it.
Put all the arse up in the air and debating weather to put disks on the back or just a major overhaul of the back brakes.
Will update soon as on holiday for two weeks as from 28th Feb

Just cleaning up the surface rust both sides. I am very suprised how Clean these are.

Now The plan for the car is to use it, when I want. Not worry to much if their is a bit of shit on the road or wet. I may be slated for my approach but after some thought I feel this is the best option for me.
Now what I am doing here is applying a skin of Stone chip/Underseal (Not too thick) I will then prime and topcoat onto that.

Even inside the bay neat the front will get a dose. (Not sure if Heat will have any problems here. But only doing near the very front.

Also gonna have a t_cut (G3) and polish as to be honest Its just tidying up rather than getting it into any awards ceremonies.

Engines. The main bit.
Out with the old.

Clean up and painting of New lump.

Thats it for today
