basicly you need a a pillar chunk, cut up the door top pillar and about 12 inches across the sill

really you need a half decent breakers yard, go there mark up the area you want lopped off and they will cut it off for you, expect to pay up to £100 more than likely 60 though

Ford should sell you the door piller, might be a lot cheaper than you think.

Most bodyshop quotes exclude the price of parts as they can change frequently and insurance companys dont ask for prices as they already know them.

Just repaired 1. Breakers wanted £150 for the a post so i decided to go another way,i cut it out split the outer skin from the inner. Repaired the inner welded that back in , then bought a new outer section from fords-£115. and welded that in. It still needed a tug though before i started cutting. As a general rule it has to be pulled out from the same direction it went in. Dont forget to stagger the wlds on inner/outer skins for more strength. Personally i always put a fishplate in as well for more strength. john.n
