panel beaters/bodyshop people
quick question,i've an accident damaged 56 plate st thats had the front drivers wheel pushed back into the inner wheel arch.the bodyshop have got all the measurements for the jig but have told me its easier if i can get an a-panel(piece that the door bolts onto??)rather then them trying to pull it out.can you buy these from ford or hadrians panels ect or anyone got a damaged shell??

basicly you need a a pillar chunk, cut up the door top pillar and about 12 inches across the sill
really you need a half decent breakers yard, go there mark up the area you want lopped off and they will cut it off for you, expect to pay up to £100 more than likely 60 though

Just repaired 1. Breakers wanted £150 for the a post so i decided to go another way,i cut it out split the outer skin from the inner. Repaired the inner welded that back in , then bought a new outer section from fords-£115. and welded that in. It still needed a tug though before i started cutting. As a general rule it has to be pulled out from the same direction it went in. Dont forget to stagger the wlds on inner/outer skins for more strength. Personally i always put a fishplate in as well for more strength. john.n
