do you know ive never had a call back from a 'specialist' to say my cars ready. everytime ive got to chase and harass them for weeks to get them to finish it eventually.
Your right, even my head they found 3 cracks in it and had to be scraped!

oh dont worry i've been hassling them lol. every week i've rang and asked for an update. its been there for a month now (cos i went on my hols in between and he said he'd do it in between other jobs to save me trailering it back and forth)
karlos i think i've got the same head as you then, he said he's just done one identical to mine yesterday. i said pretty much "sod it, do the work as i want it back reliable"
my old head was scrap too. number 3 port went and took the bore with it
it had to be honed and he said its not the best but it should hold out until i want to go more power. i have no idea about power output yet. off the top of my head its had new chip, icooler, water pump, HG, completly reworked head (dont know the full details yet, just the bloody price
)
fuel pump has been rewired, its also been tracked up he said the roll bar was loose
and that had pulled the track way out
and he commented on my shell, its the cleanest he's seen for a while lol. kinda glad i didnt' scrap it then

Sounds like you've spent some money mate! My head alone was Ł647!
But as we all say, it will be worth it in the end when we have a nice 'reliable' RS to roar about in this summer!
Fingers crossed i'll be up and running by the weekend, although I need TAX and it's only a week until May........... do I wait?!

Lol thats very true. Mark RS car was due to go over there at the start of the week for some small tweeks and new front adjustable TCA and we took it out last friday and blew the head gasket so now its over there getting that fixed now too.
Good thing it was going over there anyway

new head - not 100% on the spec tbh, he said it was stage 2 but i dont know exactly what that means.
new plugs
water pump
oil filter and oil
-31 actuator
standard intercooler fitted cos my double one was crap (had a hole in it
chip
set the boost to 1 bar via a bleed valve instead of amal.
he rebuilt the metering unit cos he said mine was so far out i wouldn't believe - his actual words lol.
rewired the fuel pump
took the dumpvalve off (i didn't like the thing anyway)
tracked it
and set it all up.
a rough estimate to power would be 170 hp to quote the website. ollie also said when we were chatting about where to go in the future, that if i had one of their front mount intercoolers i could see another 20hp
Cheers. were you there yesterday? was that your grey one in the car park? my dad wanted to get back but i was kinda trying to chat for abit! lol. never mind. he was very sceptical of you guys with him having been a hgv fitter most of his life but even he is converted and cant believe the difference.

sorry mate, my last one was a long reply
its all up there (i think) but he said there was loads of little bits that didn't even make it onto the invoice. like for example he sorted my annoying cutting out problem, he said there was a break in the alternator wiring making it intermittent.

well i drove it back on saturday on my dads traders policy. (which i'm part of)
it then sat until wednesday evening until after work when i got some proper insurance for it as its modified. went out wed night for a spin, lovely, thurs, took it to work and not a prob. fri. took it to work, washed it there, coming home from the scrappy and no gears at the lights. bugger, recovered home and now my gearbox if fucked.
i just want to torch it. 2 full days of normal driving and now the gearbox has gone.
