Default Trouble with my RS1600i Turbo, wont start

Okay, hope you have a cup of tea and sat down to read this!

I am painfully close to finishing my rs1600i, just cant get the bugger to run! Brief description of the car: full S1 loom, S2 engine and using S2 ECU's. Fuel relay has been changed for s2 pink one. Fuel MODULE relay, is brand new and is working correctly.

The car turns over, but the fuel pump will not work. I have taken the casing off the pink relay and held the contacts together, and the pump does then work, treid 2 relays, one is brand new and it wont work the pump. The relay IS getting a 12v supply, and is also getting a 12v supply from the fuel module relay when ignition is on. Earth is also good. So thats the first issue, which i can get around for the moment.........

Next issue is no spark. Put a meter accross the terminals on the coil, cranked it over and nothing. Next tested the green wires, both of them earth fine (tested seperately). But there is NO feed to the positive black wire when cranking.........

So then took the black wiring plug off the top of the dizzy, and tested that. ONE of the terminals in side does get 12v when cranking, but the the other two have nothing. How do i test the dizzy?

Now, im a bit stuck now! Obv im guessing the fuel relay and the non-spark issue is related. Im wondering if i must use a S1 ECU instead of a S2 one? Or is there something else to check?? HELP! Suggestions appreciated!!

The coil should have a constant 12+ once the ignition is on, this will be your spark problem.
S2 Fuel Pump relay will not work on a S1 loom, I dont know the specifics but I do know you'll need a S1 relay, and is probably why the pump is not priming.

You can use the S2 Ignition (silver) ECU on the S1 loom but you'll need a S1 Fuel (black) ECU or your throttle position sensor will not work.

Karlos!

Okay, im getting the 12v when its turning over, but you reckon it should be there all the time when ignition is on? Hmmmmm, what should i do with that then? And i am using a s2 black ecu, so guessing i need a s1 one then!! The loom i used already had a pink relay plug like the s2, thats why i have used a s2 item. I switched the wiring in the plug around so i had the correct wires going to the correct terminals on the relay according to the haynes manual. Because i know people have done this before. okay, im now more stuck than i was before!!
