not entirely sure on this one but i do remember my dad having a car that was originally from Jersey. Anyway when he had it it was on standard brit plates, so i suppose your local Dvla office will keep you right, but cant see no reason as to why you cant run it on jersey plates until you get it all sorted out, theres enough tossers on eastern euro plates so why not a brit colony?

Cant see it being any different to running on southern Irish plates as long as the address is changed.
About a million years ago, i bought a Cortina 2.3s on Irish Plates and i had them changed to UK ones. No trouble at all and no expence except the price of getting a set of new plates made up. When dvla notified me of my change, i had a month to get it changed over to its "new" age related UK plates

From: guernsey,c.i.. a rip off island , full of drunks
u will have to register it on uk plates .. u will need bill of sale and all documents with the the car .. then send it all off to swansea ... u might even have to pay import tax ... as the channel islands are tax free ....
You will have to pay import tax but you need the owner to write you a reciept of the amount
also when you get it back you need to got your local DVLA office to get it registered and they usually have a reg number it can go on fairly quickly.

i got my old Sierra Cosworth from Guernsey i said i paid £1000 for it but you might get away with a lot less on a fiesta turbo say £400 as they dont really inspect it.

Totaly correct , you also need the customs paperwork to prove you have paid the TAX that was due before you can register it .
not that hard we used to buy salvage from there but to be honest they were already int he uk but we still had to register them, we loved it as once registered here they were hpi clear
dont think it cost a lot atall to be honest, £25 plus roadtax etc springs to mind although that was about 5 years ago, our source dried up lol
As roosie says, had two jersey cars myself, just get a receipt for as silly amount as you only pay tax on this amount, then local licensing office, use your old plates until you get your letter with new number, I had a 1980(first registered) mk2 escort given a Y reg plate, HHK 366Y, from jersey.
