have u compressed the spring enough to the point that the shock is fully extended? otherwise there wont be sufficient thread exposed to begin tightening the top nut

drop the strut out, compress the spring, and tighten down the spring cap nut as far as poss, then u shud have enough thread exposed to solve the problem

tried covering it in WD40, then maybe using a jack to force it thru enough to start the thread? then it tends to be a matter of impact gun time and tighten the fucker up

my poly top mounts were tight, but not this bad i wil admit

Once you've assembled it all, don't put the top nut on until the car is back on the ground with all its weight down, then it should go together. You tried this?

Those Orange ones ARENT Powerflex. I reckon they are cheapies, hence the problems. Powerflex ones go in no problems.

Well, I'm not the worlds biggest fan of Poly-Urethane bushes anyway, they do wear quickly. But if you ask me, Powerflex are as good as they get for Ford's. I wouldn't use anything else.

Hope someone has a solution

I fitted the same yellow Powerflex top mounts with my GAZ coilover... I could not get it to work either... ended up using the original Ford black rubber item...

There is no issue? I've just replaced the Powerflex top mounts that I fitted almost 10 years ago with a new set and they went on fine with my Gaz Golds. Once you guide the shock into place and lower the weight back on, the nuts will go on fine.
