Default Pudding Stick!

Ive been told that my gear linkage is quite normal for the mk4 escort but in my opinion its like stiring a big bucket of porridge.

Are there any linkage kits or short throw conversion kits available.

What can i do. It ruins the feel of the car

Not sure the B&M are available new anymore, but could be wrong. Christian from APT is worth a call if you're after a B&M one.

Didn`t know about the puma linkage. I made a quick shift for mine, could have saved some time for beer.

Talking like that about people on websites will not get you very far my friend.

How about you go down the breakers, buy a puma linkage, and then try and get it to fit. Once you figure out that the guy your calling a prick spent alot of time and effort making it work so he could offer it to others as a cheap and decent upgrade, compared to getting your arse smashed buying a B&M quickshit, you can then come back and ask what you need to do in a sensible grown up manner. Till then go and earn some respect from people by treating them how you would like to be treated in return. Idiot!

il do a how to on this very soon. It was extremely easy and virtually a direct swap. The info he has given out was rubbish to try and detere anyone from trying the conversion at all

OKC search his statements about this topic and you will see why others have also come to the same opinion as me.

Compare your item with the one fitted to my car and others who have the uprated item that you have no idea about, you are assuming the linkage used is a std item like what you have. However it is very different where the knuckle joint is, THAT was the info that was not given out.... otherwsie how would you even know about this swap.!
The puma linkage swap was done about 6 years ago on my car for me and i still have the same one.

Using it as a direct swap gives a lovely gear change and i have no reason to adapt it. If i were going to change its knuckle joint i may as well of just adapted the std item.

You just said that the "direct swap gives a lovely gear change." then go on to say "i may as well of just adapted the std item" If you had just adapted the std item with the uprated knuckle, you would still have a shite gear change as the bushes and parts in the linkage would still be old and worn. So yet again you talking mush.. Yes the std linkage is a great direct swap, but with added other parts its even better! But you wouldnt know that would you.

If you dont want a public row then you should refrain from talking about respected people that you have never met or spoken too or seen the items that they offer which is what we are talking about!

Funny thing is you have not helped at all and given no advise so your no help anyways.

Then coming on here with the whole 15 post you have, telling people that other members of this site who have over 10 years of experiance in building cars that he has a bad attitude.

The only attitude that we see here is yours you idiot.

Now grow up, learn some respect and come back when you have something productive to say.

Danny.
