Utter utter SHIT!

You get what you pay for

APT do THE best deals on B&M shifters. The prices have just shot up on them but APT have kept their prices as low as possible

fit new bushes to your standard stuff first, theyre probably very worn after the years of use theyve had

But fitting a B&M shifter does the same job and it will not wear because it is mostly metal parts and you get a VERY short throw

fair do's Tony Turbo but why spend all that money if he only wants to sort out the sloppyness and not the throw distance. if he got the money it'd be a good decision tho

Can you still get the parts?

When mine was first rebuilt 5 years ago it cost Ł100 in parts, Ł60 more and you get one that'll last "forever".

The B&M kit for the RST is currently Ł185 including delivery. Availability is 2-3 days. Often next day though if the order is placed before about 3pm.

Mine has been in for about 3 years now and is as good now as the day it was fitted. I have driven cars with the lesser kits fitted, such as those done by Burton Power and Rally Design and they are VERY second rate. I really do mean that.

The B&M sometimes takes a little fine tuning, but once you have it to your liking, you will love it. Mine went straight in, no problems. They come with full detailed instructions and can be fitted in around an hour.

I would give it a 2-spanner rating if I was Mr Haynes!!

Christian how many orders are needed for a reduced price? Call it a Passionford Group buy

Ive got a burton 1. It does have a shorter throw and is narrower between gears however.

Andy, you know its REALLY hard to be able to offer them at Ł185 after B&M's harsh price increase. We certainly make less out of them now than the already small amount we made at the old price!!!

In any case, if enough people want them, I will have a word with B&M and see if I can tweak the price a little. No promises though.

I reckon we will need 10 orders at least. The more the better. So those interested.......

I had one of these in my S2 and I can say that they are NOT shite at all. My stick used to be a bit like stirring porridge and had a long throw between gears, but after having one of these fitted, it was 1000 times better. Very sharp and was set-up perfect in the H-section for quicker changes over standard. Can certainly tell the difference between standard and the RD one.

Now I haven't tried a B & M one. By all accounts they appear to work very well on all cars. But for the smaller budget, the RD one is definately worth considering imo.

List noted guys. I will have a word with B&M on Monday and see what we can sort. Keep 'em coming!! I really do think we will need 10, to carry enough weight to get a price.

Where on that site is the RST one Ł160 delivered??

Here is the link to the RST one on there......

http://www.motorsportworld.co.uk/det...45096&PID=8549

I make that Ł165 plus Ł9 delivery. I used to do them for Ł165 INCLUDING delivery until B&M put their prices up a month or so ago. The RRP on that site is the old price, so I imagine they haven't updated their prices since the price increase (we all get them from the same place). From memory, the current B&M RRP is Ł220 odd for that shifter.

Ring them and see if they will sell it to you for that price. If they will, then job done, but I would be VERY surprised.

I take it these fit the gearchange linkage of the earlier mk3 escorts such as my RS1600i?

Im fed up with the sloppy feel when changing up
