Default Morris gets more grunt :-)

Just changed the turbo/manifold and injectors on the yellow car and put it on Pectel T2 at the same time, yesterday I mapped it so far up to 1.4 bar tailing off to 1.2 at the top end and now have 331hp and 327ft/lb, it had 260hp previously and ran out of puff at below 7k, now it wants to rev to 8k And the bonus is it has more power everywhere, roll on Combe!!!

Thanks to Wayne/Alex and the guys at Pro Alloy for altering my their previously fabricated alloy pipework to suit

Subaru VF34 roller bearing turbo and new manifold...

I haven't finished with it yet but it does come on boost real quick and holds on to the power very well at the top. Should be done tomorrow, I don't know why I'm bothering going any further tbh as it already has more than the 320hp that I had decided was sensible.

Good stuff, i have an ibiza cupra running a vf34 was rolling roaded at 351bhp and that goes well and should hopefully be reliable.

Does the mg torue steer badly cause mine is shocking tbh

It didn't before, have not driven it yet. Does yours run equal length driveshafts?

What boost are you using for 350hp?

standard drive shafts, so what ever a seat cupra comes with?

Tbh i aint to sure on the boost but 1.9 bar rings a bell, the car is a totally standard 150 motor with the usual bolt ones, vf34 and water injection.

Cupra's come with a long shaft on the engine side, not good for big power. MGZR's come with unequal shafts too but I sorted that.

Wouldnt that long shaft make the drive shafts on a standard cupra egual lenght?

I aint heard any bad things about people busting that shaft and i know of a few lads with them around the 350bhp mark.

Just out of interest do you do any performance bit for the 20vt motors?

No, when you look at the shafts on a Cupra one is much longer than the other.. By using a solid mounted jack shaft (as pictured) 2 equal length shafts can be used, this helps cut down torque steer.

Ah right i get you know so that shaft in the picture isnt a standard fit to a cupra and its something you have modded so you can use equal lenght shafts.

If so could you do it to a my ibiza so that it has equal shafts

It could be done but my picture is a little misleading.. Its a 20V engine but has a Rover gearbox fitted to which I have adapted Rover V6 driveshafts.

ye i could see the adaptor plate so guessed you had used a different box. I'm guessing it wouls be all custom 1 off stuff so wouldnt be even close to a reasonable price lol

350 is huge HP for a VF34. Normally a TD05 smokes the VF34/35 easily, and spools pretty much the same. And a TD05 wont go much past 350.

That said, it all depends on which rollers etc etc.

A TD05 18G hybrid would be a good upgrade if looking to spend a few quid, or the 20G wheeled one.

Mark at Lateral Performance also sells some fantastic IHI based hybrids although they are a lot pricier than the oil journal TD range of Subaru turbo's

I'd deffo be running that a little rich even at the expense of a little power due to that short runner manifold ???
t2 got individual cylinder trims?

Its the only way to go with a High HP fwd
