As some of you may know I have recently broke my saff to fund the purchase of K60SSE from Neil A . The car was one I'd allways liked and I had missed out on the car when it first came up, though due to the buyer dropping out of the sale at the last minute I had the chance to get the car.
The car as a whole was out of my budget(due to its high spec) but as neil had just started the brake the car this was perfect as it ment i could pick and chose what parts i wanted with the rolling shell. This will also hopefully work out cheaper in the long run than buying a whole car, as I would be changing/upgrating most of the car to get it to the spec i want.
I ended up with-
Rolling trimmed shell( not seats or door cards)
K60SSE no. plate.
Gaz coilovers
front strut brace
adjustable rose jointed TCA's
65mm pro alloy rs500 intercooler
touring car rad, 60mm i think.
Twin pump and swirl pot fuel system
Bara box
AG hydrolic clutch conversion
So after a very:headbang: long 1000mile round trip from poole, dorset to leven, fife its was mine.

First thing ive done is to remove the old knackered rear beam that was fitted purely for transport purposes , so I can start to clean up the under side ready for my beam.
The rear beam i'll be using was in my 2wd saff so I know it has a good 71/2" diff , polybushes and 4wd brakes, just needs a clean up and a lick of paint.
As you can see from the pic the under side is in quite good condition and is allready painted due to the car being used for concours by one of the previous owners.

Parts I have allready collected or kept form my saff
swedish inlet
83lbs blacks
ryan loom
rs500 turbo hanger
rear beam, diff 7.5" , polybushed with 4wd brakes
stack afr gauge
header tank
rs500 alt drop bracket
coil pack conv. leads, amps ect.
and I have a good head which has been flowed to be capable of 500hp+ . (though I cant really say who did it as its a private job done outside of the tuner he works for )
Plan is to build for 70% track use and the odd bit of road use to shows or poss ring trips.
I've made up my mind on what i want spec wise out of the car and i'll stcik to it as its cost me to much on other cars from not doing so.
It will run a roller bearing T4 and whatever power that can make.

Ok did a bit last wed night and, well it could of gone better tbh.
Started by removing these which im not a fan of.

And at this point I must warn anyone else who may want to remove some of their own car DON'T.
Not to mention the fact that they are razor sharpe and Im now missing half of two fingers
, they also do not come off well. Mine were stuck on with tiger seal, which was a bugger and ended me with a badly rippeled bonnet.
Im unsure if it can be repaired so It may be carbon bonnet time.

I have also come across a few other issues I dont want to explain just yet , which tbh I think will end up in me getting paint done on the whole front end.

Not the start i wanted at all, but we shall press on.

Ok update time.
Right well Im going to post this as if i do ever come to sell the car I will be straight with the buyer and im sure they would like to know things are done properly on the car.
While removing the lights( for de-buftying) wed nite we came across this little mess.
Compare the Nearside (1st pic ) to the offside (2nd pic)

I think someone must of had a bump in it and had it repaired on the cheap.

But not to be put off , we shall press on with and new front panel section, WRC front wings(rl7's and monte 18" are now out the window in favour of some 9" wide comps in matt black
) and a front end paint. Dan's dad is a top painter so he doing it all but first we needed to strip out the front end .
So now it looks like this.

Next up clean the bay up ready for paint, and get it to the bodyshop to whip off the wings and send them for some beefing up
while the front panel and bonnet get sorted.
If the bonnet is so dented I may be on the look out for a carbon one
, if anyone knows where i might find one????

I fitted those bufty plates to my saph once! Thank god i only used double sided tape.
They still put a small crease in my bonnet, when i took them off.
Shame about the front end, but can be easily repaired.

If i knew you were wanting rid of the bonnet plates i would have looked out the bonnet liner as i still have it somewhere.

No worries mate its cool, its only when I stripped the lights and bumper off it became apparent. If you have the liner still I'll have it
