Not for general sale, just develpoment hacks, would have been ordered to be chopped up as couldnt have been sold, 1 or 2 may of survived but seems unlikely it would turn up now and if it did you would NOT be able to prove where it came from anyway of course as would have no v5

Like I posted about Collins,I believe they made 12 or 16 of them.I know they did a 4x4 conversion running Cosworth management supposedly 200 bhp.Never heard about Ford making 200 of them.If that was the case I am sure more would have surfaced by now.

ford was developing 4x4 running gear on the mk4 escorts for the prototype escose im sure. there was a thread on rsoc & an old thread on here about it. non went on sale & were scrapped when the development finished.
yes it was true but im still trying to track down who own's the factory built s2 i think there was only 3 ever made
there was 200 shells that were made but got crushed, the 4x4 idea come then for the rs2000 and the escort cos
Would be great to get the reg and do a dvla check to see what it was registered as, especially as it wouldnt have had type approval to be legal for sale, so would have to have gone in as something different on the logbook to a normal one I would imagine, although I dont know how different the law was back then as the current SVA system for stuff like that has only been in place since 1998.
chip the reg has been posted on my topic some time ago it hasent been taxed for some time
i will find link now for you to have a read
found link mate but if i copy and paste it may not link to it can you sort it
one was last on the road in 2004 i think it was the only one there was an e reg but never had tax may be its in a lock up some where

sue collins built one for a customer who ended up working there and was built from bits that were gen ford, they turned up in breakers yard along with 16v zeta ( thats the proper name for a 16v mk5 escort engine) and other stuff.
the car was brand fire new and nearly ended up on a q but the owner who was a bit of a fart put pressure on the vro and got it greg'ed.
i saw the car, it wasn't any differant looking exept a set of Revolutions ( Rs Baz's favourite wheel
, sorry Baz
) in white and the fun stuff underneath.
there was a 4wd rs1600 i but thats another story

Cozzfather,I know you know your onions I was under the impression that Collins made 12 or 16 of em.Two of my mates owned a white G plate S2 built by collins with white revolutions on it which should have been 4x4 but the transfer box was shot,He even got on the front cover of Fast Ford I think it was.You reckon they only built one ?.

thay never did orions
i think there was a couple knocking about circa 1990-91, i never heard that sue did 16 ish though but definately one, the parts were not complete and various parts needed specialist manufacturers help to produce what was required.
i even remember the original owner of the g reg collins escort 4x4 rs turbo's name its john bridget or bridget the midget.
its all in my memory bank, now whats the crack about onions, thats the second time someones mentioned onions to this evening.
there was another cosworth tuner back in the good old days when i was starting out learning my onions and it was called Greenlight, it was in London and the bloke who ran it was called Gerrade Sauer, he was well into motorsport stuff and wrote for iirc car and car conversions as well as being a cosworth tuner,he did a rs1600i in met blue for a customer who was rallying it,that car came from another ford specialist who could not complete the car due to not all the transmision parts being available, the car had a lot of the bits that sue collins had. in them days there was a ford specialist who managed to get hold of stuff ford was developing and secrertly using but wasn't availablr through main dealers parts departments.
one other example was one of the first 16v zeta engines that later became known as zetec got banned from ford racing (vecta fast fords don't ya know) due to the engine not being available from ford to buy yet the scrap yard had them in for sale.
it was in a escort rs turbo and the head iirc was on the cvh block back in oooh 1991 before the mk5's got 16v's.
ford got bummed by lancia for using a name they owned the copyright for so the engine then go called zetec, course to me its a zeta still init

Anyhoo
onions an all lol.The one I was on about a local guy with his own repair/tuning garage had it and it come with the transfer box (knackered) in the boot.He sold it to a lad from southport who had the magazine feature done.I believe it got wrote off,it must have been back in about 96ish.I will get an answer to this, the first guy does a day or two at collins now.I will go to his own place and speak to him.
