it would appear that the Politics room is the new general room... LOL

So how comes the strictness all of a sudden...? just because the MOD has an opinion, does not neccessarily mean his opinion is correct IMO.

On a serious note, if a mod has had a bad day etc, please do not take it out on the members.. FPMSL

bring back the good old days when this site was not just about money...

How is trying to keep the place as nice as possible to be a part of got to do with money?

It is the GP that keep this place strict by reporting anything untoward, as the mods can't view every single post . So the fact that it has become harder to slip through the net, is down to you guys .

Mike...

not so long a go the site was about helping people out etc.. You would put a thread up saying "has anyone got XXXXXX laying about.." and someone would reply with, no probs, pay the postage and its yours etc...

If you do the above now, you get banned

I appreciate you are trying to improve the site but the only reason for this, is to improve revenue.. Just take a look at all the adverts etc.. then you get redirected clicking on a link.. Oh yeah, its not about the money

Mods CAN delete threads. Mods are NOT supposed to! They are required to move them to a "sin bin" area, which allows them to be retrieved if there has been a misinterpetation of the rules by the mod in question (we're only human ).

I see his point westy was clearly told by Stu that only one person had the power to delete posts (Stu)-I saw the thread-which is different from mods 'not supposed to delete threads'

But fuck it its only the internet surely there's more important stuff going on

I have personally NEVER seen the above scenario .

However, if it was twisted round so that the ORIGINAL poster said he had something to give away etc, then it would be moved if it was posted in the wrong section, as GD is not the place for these posts. This is also to encourage people to be more pro-active in supporting the site, as you're unlikely to go to the effort of becoming a gold member unless you were planning on being here for the long haul. Basically in my opinion PF is like a relationship - you get out what you put in .

Westy,
I have asked you THREE times now to show me where these posts were once upon aq time that have been deleted. If you make another topic bleating about them I will ban you myself mate as I am tired of following you around now answering the same question.

So, to recap.
Q) Why were your posts deleted?
A) Which posts. link to topic please. (Third request on third topic about it)

Q) Can mods permanently delete posts.
A) No they cannot. (Third time Ive told you on third topic)

The links can be sent to me either by PM, or on the ORIGINAL topic you mentioned it on. If you forget which that is, I think that may have been the multi page one where you were complaining your internet was slow, we told you it was a DNS issue, you told us it definitely wasn't, then found it indeed it actually was. More time wasted by you ignoring my efforts to help you.

Since you say this post exists largely because of your deleted posts, i will move this to policy, where it should be.

Stu, you may wish to have a chat with your workers and remind them of the rules again as some know them, and some don't... This can often lead to arguments LOL

As fo you yet again asking me to prove these missing posts, may I refer you to the below when I asked you a question..

I've just read the reason why Eagle has removed your post, and this is due to the site rules on piracy. This stance is someting that IB feel very strongly about, so we (the mods) are the enforcers of these rules. Basically, anything that looks like it might be viewed as piracy, is removed from the board. Please check the site rules for further clarification .

Westy, the staff are doing just fine as it seems they deleted your topic about how to get an ISO of the Dark Knight that you have downloaded, to burn to disk. They did nothing wrong and you know damn well that its against site policy.

they were deleted from the "General room".... Hi Westy, please post your deleted threads as proof FPMSL You have go to be on a wind up Stu...

I feel like I am being discriminated against....

Perhaps a case of too many mods competing against one another...? Do you have a daily tally chart where the mods get a point for each post or thread deleted..? as it seems to be a game to most!!

Westy,

In view of what the post contains...You have been busted mate...LOL
Looks like my recollection of the original thread was mistaken Sorry Pete

Mike,

With regards to piracy, what about discussing cossie ECU chips ?

All YB weber chips that are not factory originals are in fact pirated/copied in whole or part at some point.

Yet, these are openly traded by official traders and gold members alike !

Where does IB stand on this ?

We can ONLY "soft delete" a thread, not COMPLETELY remove it from the board database.

That said, we are told to ONLY move things to the sin bin.

It is MUCH easier for other mods/admin to review a thread, rather than they run around searching for it, as the search function does NOT work on "deleted" threads, but it does on sin binned ones.

There seems to be a HUGE misunderstanding here.

WESTY: If your topics/posts disappear, they SHOULD be in the sin bin 100% of the time, not DELETED, there is a difference. That still means that you wont see them in a search.

Very good question, as far as I am aware, every tuner on this site selling chips for the YB cosworth has got the ball rolling on their maps by starting with an illegal copy of the ford software which they have then modified and sold as their own.

I dont see how that isnt also Piracy?

Enough of this...

Westy. Firstly can the ****ing mods please stop deleting my posts

Now note the word POSTS. There is no way a moderator can delete a POST so when you tell me what TOPIC its on, as i requested, I will be able to take a look on that TOPIC for your supposedly deleted POSTS. If your not sure, please be advised that a thread, is also known as a topic.

Since you have chosen to start throwing names about again when its you in the wrong as usual, you can have some more infraction points and go away to evaluate the difference between a topic, and a post. Topic Closed.
