Yes no problems. I'm guessing it is an old dateless plate?

Some old plates are non-transferable, but they are in the minority I believe

Think you will find you cant, but i would like to be proved wrong, has any body on here done it,remember a vehicle need an mot to remove the plate, and agricultural machines dont have mot's.

If the vehicle doesn't require an MOT then I'd find it crazy that the DVLA would not let you take the plate off because of the fact.

I have the plate MAX 316 on an old massey, looked into it and it cannot be transfered as my grandad never applied for a new computerised logbook when they came out in 1974 and it still has the old brown logbook. Even if he had you have to change them over to PLG and then MOT it, far to much hassle to do this to an old tractor

I vaugely recall that at one point you could transfer plates of all sorts on to cars, so milk floats, tractors etc were all fair game.

But then when plates became big business and the DVLA got in on the act they stopped it.

Easy answer is to ring DVLA !

No, looked into this last year, the vehicle has to have an MOT. Was a bit of a shame as it was a good number (777 RNN) on a JCB I sold for my old man.
