Your engine builder/tuner should be able to give you the correct parts list for what he intends to do?

I would stay with the CVH if your planing to do a DIY build

It will be worse and will not rev beyond 5k if not built properly

Better to focus on the head ,cam, turbo, and management on the CVH

Given what you have written, I would rather have a reliable full steel CVH personally.
A good CVH with decent management makes for a very nice little engine imho

I would not do a zetec unless I massive power was needed and wished to change the gearbox to something better.

gearbox is being changed to smething stronger, like i said in last post i want around the 240 mark on bhp and reliabilty.

I have a CVH doing that kind of power reliably and would not personally change it for a Zetec of similar power.

A steel CVH would be ultra reliable there's nothing you could break

The thing that kills most CVH's is the shonky MFi management

Yeah i'd either go CVH or full Zetec no point doing half in half (ZVH) IMO.

Building a CVH these days is a bit odd unless you have a specific reason for wanting one.. A 2L zetec with nothing more than a set of pistons and uprated valve springs will quite happily sit at 250bhp all day (metaphorically speaking) and not wear like a CVH would!

What it means is that you need new uprated rods and forged pistons I think the crank is good for almost 300bhp.
Sure someone will put me right if i'm wrong though!

Zetec, although I do like big spec's CVH's, but they come with big money sadly.

if changing to efi anyway i would go full zetec less money than a (all steel) cvh and certanly less stress on it. i done a zvh as i never wanted to change my management and had no probs with it, producing good power and revving well CERTAINLY not as bad as what people say.

zvh mate. Much cheaper to build on your own. Ive built quite a few now and had no problems with them what so ever, hand on heart!!!!! Built the zetec turbo a couple of times, a lot of money and a lot of aggro. From my experience the zvh pulls and performs much better. And i use something a lot of people dont agree with, a very well made decompression plate. Spec of my engine, mk1 mondeo bottom end, shot pinned rods arp bolts, standard pistons, over the top ported and polished head plus inlet manifold piper cam modified by race power motor sport, stage 3 t3, big intercooler and still running mfi system with a 250 break ECU. Had it on race powers rollers and set up at a bar and made 240 and matching torque. AP clutch and standard gearbox. Engine been running for well over 15 months with abuse on track days.
