havent had my xr2i for long, but seeing as it was left standing for 7months theres bound to be a few issues to start with. the most prominant at the moment is a 'jerkyness'.

it happens when the rpm is roughly equal to the speed i am doing. so i am not accelerating or de-accelerating. it happens in all gears. it makes driving normally a bit hard as it jumps when i apply gentle pressure. if i accelerate at all it goes, same with de-acceleration.

i have changed the coil pack, the sparks and the HT leads are new...

any ideas!!! thanks in advance!!!

The throttle position sensor. Had exactly the same problem on my xi. About Ł60 from fords iirc when i got one last year.

 

cheers mate, where abouts is the tps? maybe it just needs a good clean?

 

Cant clean it matey its a sealed unit. Its screwed onto the side of the throttle body. easy to get at.
