Question has anyone has nerve conduction tests?

just wondering if anyone has had these tests done at hospital for nerve problems, what did they find? they either use electric pads or needles to stick into you and use small amounts of electric to get a responce

I've had nerve tests done but was asleep at the time so cant comment
Was to find and repair peripheral nerve/ muscle damage in my arm and shoulder.
The only tests I do rem afterwards were tapping along the arm to see if the nerve was regenerating (few mths later)

Does this help answer your Q?

it stems from a motorbike accident, had the arm plated.then had car accident and broke same arm even though it was plated.i was having trouble with lack of feel and constant pins and needles so was sent to the hallamshire hospital in sheffield for the test.

yes and i hate them!!!!!!!

they were looking to find why i was toe walking - so did these studies 3 times in depth

they are not comfortable - but my condtition enhances the pain

they also checked the muscle nerve connection on me - now that one hurts as it scratches the muscle!

quite interested to know peoples experiences of this because i also broke my arm in a motorcycle accident and had it pinned and plated, had loadsa problems since then, pins and needles, hand going numb, went back earlier this year to have a piece of bone removed from my wrist that should of been removed previously but was left floating round!!!
Going back in anytime soon to have some bones in my hand/wrist reconstructed and some ligaments etc replaced!

I had a few accidents and a fair bout of hospital time.
However in relation to nerve problems I found that a lot of it was due to the way I rested my arms etc etc... I changed how I did things. I also had some tennis elbow and went to a physio who put this little electric pulser on the muscles to help them recover... I worked fantastic and I know of others who have had this done with equally fantastic results.
I know you might have more problems due to actual bone fragments etc but I suggest you at least consider these low tech approaches.
