I was just going to say phospor bronze too.

Any engineering company worth their salt will be able to machine them to the spec you require.

Mark,

When I got all my engine bits together, I realise my pistons were designed to be fully floating as opposed the standard CVH semi floating. I sent the rods and a gudgeon pin back to Farndon and they machined out the rod and inserted a little end bush machined to suit my gudeon pins. Might be worth speaking to them about sorting you some out?

Something I am going to have to do again as I have fucked at least 1 of the rods up.

im guessing at the 3mm wall but wont be far off, im waiting for a rod so i can measure a std cossie rod's small end I.D, the pin is 22mm i want to use, the std cossie pin is 24mm so may be 2mm wall if the std is 1mm wall (usually about 1mm)

how does titanium cope ive got a large ish stash i could have a go at machining up.

AFAIK titanium is not much good as a bearing surface as it picks up very easily

If you are only using the new material to make the little end smaller you are not taking away any strength from the rod (the 3mm bit made me think you were opening the rods out)
Aluminium bronze is another alternative ?

no not removing the rod at all, just to sleeve the gudgeon pin size down 2mm from std cosworth pin size,

Contact fsrndon and see if they can sell you blanks instead of machined little ends
