So I don't want to remove the sump. I figure I can drain the oil, clean up the sump, scuff the paint off and rough up the metal and JB Weld the bung in (after drilling).
The sump is not under pressure, JB Weld is perfect for this. Just need a quality fitting that the JB will bond to and a spot on hole drilled.
Anyone else do the same?

Drill it. Fill. Drain. Repeat. With cheap oil and swarf of that size it's easy. Swarf of that size won't get sucked into the mesh. Smaller swarf will be caught by the filter.

I'd remove the sump to weld it in -if it's not brass. But considering there are two filters, drills pull swarf out (up) and that you can flush it out, I'm not worried about debris.
I'm wondering about a bung that fits nicely.
