efi loom, ecu, head or adapter plate, bottom end trigger wheel, unless u got the hole in the block for the CPS,map, inlet manifold coil pack and leads few other odds and sods.
Dont like EFI much myself, but other do, would rather go cossie managment or aftermarket for the effort

the difference between a car on MFi and one on EFi is like night and day. just it's not a massively simple or cheap job to swap. it's well worth doing though.

before bothering with the swap ask the following questions... how much power do you want out the car? what do you use the car the for (daily driver? weekend thrash \ second car ?) are you just going to EFI cos some bloke down the pub said it was better?

Just think about all these things and make "an informed decision" efi and MFI both have their advantages and weaknesses!

MFI
downers.
Metering heads can be fragile and expensive to replace
loose one sensor they run like a bucket!
injectors leak and they fire on 2-3 when starting up! (not always!)

uppers
Can get 200bhp easy with big boost, big intercooler, exhaust, and 98 petrol.
fairly simple to fix faults
ability to "home tune" with simple tools (3mm allen key, 10mm spanner gas tester and timing light, although I dont recomend this!!)

efi
downers
need to change injectors for each stage of tune (injectors are different to other efi systems ie cossie)
mate of mine was prone to melting pistons on efi

uppers

TURBO CHATTER
starts up better than mfi
some say smoother in operation
slightly better mpg

An MFI equiped RST if running 100% perfect is in fact probably smoother and more refined than any EFI setup. KE jet is actually a fantastic system, let down only by the fact it is getting old now.

Hence we usually advise if you have no plans to go beyond 200bhp, we would advise having the MFI system fully checked and repaired/setup as appropriate to make good. We can restore any KE equiped car to run as good as new, usually for sensible cost!

If planning to go beyond 200bhp, go straight for cosworth management.

In terms of power for power under 200bhp you will gain nothing by changing the KE jet IF the KE jet is setup and working properly.

This is simply not true, you only have to replace injectors once they have reached their limit, not at every stage of tune like you suggest.
The very fact that you can change injectors is not a downer as you suggest it is an advantage as it allows you to have a tactile and high performance engine without wasting fuel.
If your mate was melting pistons, it did so for a reason which was not to do with the type of management on the car, sounds really really badly set up to me

its only worth doin if you are goin with cossie or aftermarket management

mate of mine did it had a stage 2 erst making about 200bhp on mfi swapped to standard ofab efi and got standard car power fiesta turbo managment is very expensive to set up compared to mfi

like everyone said if you changing management you need the efi bits anyway

its a good mod but to get you car to even stage 1 on efi will cost you about Ł200 for a chip, Ł50 for a decent filter, and not sure about beige injectors about Ł200 again id imagen the a set up about Ł200

My car is on EFi and certainly NOT Cossie management. It was the best move I made. IMO, this only applies though if the management you choose is high quality and therefore can provide precise control and nice features etc. My ECU runs closed-loop fuelling and boost amongst other things.

My set-up uses 630cc injectors, which are PLENTY big enough for anything I can do to it, but it idles at 14.7:1 and I reckon it will do 30-35 mpg.

I just cannot see any reason for staying with MFi, other than cost. A decent modern ECU will cost around Ł1k for the ECU and loom (plus fitting and mapping) and is worth every penny IMO.

Although, as Karl says, it is possibly overkill for sub 200bhp.

The amount of power it makes depends largely on adjusting timing. I'm not sure to what extent Karl can optimise this, but I know that we can find optimum timing on the dyno 'live' with our systems.
