can i use tipex on a v5 document as was only given the green slip when bought a car and wish to put it my name or is it against the law to do it that way

it is a legal ducument and will require you to register the car correctly

 

thats like asking if you can tippex out and change the amount written on a cheque

there is no way you can do that

You are talking about just the New Keeper Supplement [Green Slip], not the whole V5??

I've done it loads of times on the Green Slips as people seem incapable of reading the instructions.

I've even taxed cars on tippexed green slips!!! Which is all you'd need it for as you should have the V5 done in your name if it's not already.

 

yes you can use tipex on the green slip, i have done it loads of times to tax cars and to apply for the V5 ......
