alright been offered a puma 1.7 cheep needin an engine just wonderin whether it would to much hassle to put a 2.0 blacktop in as thats a more easily available engine

keep it 1.7, for a 2.0 conversion engine mounts would be needed.

you could pick a good con 1.7 engine for less than 300quid, only 10bhp down on a 2.0 Zetec-e mondeo engine.

It would handle like a bag of shit with the 2.0 far far too heavy as there cast blocks.

what car is it? If it's a Zetec-S I'd keep the 1.6, providing its a blacktop.

I wouldnt put a 2.0 blacktop in a puma unless it was a zetec turbo'd one where the power outwieghs the wieght and chances are youd upgrade the suspension anyway.

cheers chaps will look for a 1.7 then just cos i know where a 2.0 was sittin but dont want any hassle just a quick fix n get it soldon so will just get a 1.7
